Big Spring is an amazing site! A must see if you are remotely close! So cool! You can pull right up to it too! So if you have people who have a hard time getting around they can still enjoy. There were two IS Geological markers we found- super cool!

This place was AMAZING. We did the "Park Pass" which included the cave tour, gem mining and excavating for $25/person. This is on our list to stop at again and again! The ladies were so fun, kind and generous with our kiddos! Bonus, the gem mining bags were LOADED with gemstones. In comparison with the mine we did in North Carolina a few years ago, we screened out about 5x as many gems for 1/3 of the price. We had an awesome time here and the girls are already asking to go back!

The '100 year flood' this spring changed a lot of the area drastically - but Mother Nature quickly cleansed the river ways and Current River in VanBuren is as beautiful and clear as always. Public access gravel bar is located at the end of town. Plenty of parking. Has boat ramp and lots of boat parking. Has public restrooms. GREAT time to spend the day!

Neat place to see and visit. Mechanical parts are impressive if you are interested in engineering. Component parts are still in place as is the water wheel. SPring is really interesting and cold.

Ozark National Scenic Riverway

This site has campgrounds and recreation all about the water. I was told there is also horse back riding and off road four wheeling. With several interesting areas to visit, I only visited the mill and one room school house area and drove thru the area. I enjoyed the driving. Twists and turns abound. Since the headquarters site is only opened on weekdays, Monday thru Friday. The country store has a porch where the passport stamp is available 24 hours a day. Unless the porch is locked up at night.
