We had a great trip to the observatory. We were picked up by Susie who was super friendly and informative. When we arrived Demaso already had a telescope set up so we could see sunstorms before it set. We got to see stars like Sirius while the sky was still light. As the night went on we used more and more advanced telescopes, and saw several stars and constellations not visible in the northern hemisphere. Demaso was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, we couldn’t have asked for a better host. He is so generous to open his home to guests to share his passion! He also has three dogs who were very sweet. We can’t recommend this enough, and would love to go again.

Did this trip in February. To sum it up it consists of 11 hours in a minivan to visit three churches in Chiloe, none of them is interesting unless you are an academic interested in the technical details of wooden church building in the mid 19th century. However good the guides are (and our guide was excellent) this piece of Chile is not worth visiting. The drive to Castro in Chiloe island comprises a 70km motorway run to a ferry and then more than two hours driving along a scruffy, semi industrialised road with no redeeming features to Castro. On arrival the only logical question is "why bother". There are so many beautiful places in Chile I would suggest that people give this excursion a swerve and prevent the total waste of a day of their lives.

Set in one of the most prestigious winegrowing locales in the world, the Estancia El Cuadro is located in the heart of Casablanca Valley about one hour east of Valparaiso. Our ship arranged tour included a Chilean Rodeo Show, folkloric dance demonstration, wine tasting, small museum tour focused on old wine producing techniques and a Chilean Barbecue. At the end of tour you have the option of purchasing wine and other products in the small souvenir shop. Interestingly, this winery actually produces little wine but instead grows grapes used by a number of other vineyards in the valley. When we arrive another group was holding a wedding party so the facility is available for group events. The barbecue lunch we had was delicious and included local fresh vegetables and beef and chicken. The setting is beautiful and the staff very professional and friendly. Parking is not an issue. A great place for a family outing.

It is one of the valleys with the highest growth and is also located in the center of our territory, with a microclimate that provides a very special terroir and temperature to produce a great quality of grapes. This valley has developed very quickly despite being so young with its cocechas and different types of grapes which call the visitor to visit these beautiful landscapes varieties and mixtures of wines, we visited three vineyards and also the option of lunch - tourists pay their lunch. This wine business is tremendous and the income from your sales is very important. in Chile we are ready to show the world the production of wine, upon arriving in this country prepare to drink very good wines.

We had a pleasure of Waldo being our tour guide driving and showing us around Valparaiso. We had 2 children that are still young, so flexibility of the schedule is a must and Waldo is very flexible and intuitive of our needs. He even prepared desserts, drinks, fruits, you name it, he brought them with him so we have a pleasant day through out the day, as most of the restaurants is still closed during Phase 2. He even brought our bags along and carried them securely,to prevent robbery. Thank you Waldo for being very patient with us and waited until we had great photo for our Instagrams. We really recommend him!

Scheduled a Santiago tour, but the form didn't have a place to identify where to be picked up. Spent 2 weeks trying to contact the tour people. They don't answer the phone, don't answer emails. Don't respond to voicemail. Even got Orbitz to try and they can't either.

A fun evening of music, food and dance. We were at rectangular tables arranged around a central rectangular stage where all the action was focused. The host took us through all the different regions of Chile. Was fully in Spanish, but we enjoyed it just as much. The dancers invited members from the audience for almost every second dance. Our memorable dance as a couple was after a very quick switch from both of us dancing with the dancers followed by each other. The Spanish host was quite eloquent with Frank Sinatra as part of the serenading of an impromptu anniversary celebration of an old Spanish couple. Food needed more spice. The 3 course meal was outstanding otherwise.

Just one hour from Santiago are the vineyards of the Casablanca Valley, recognized for being the first cold climate valley in Chile. In this tour you can choose from a variety of traditional, organic and boutique vineyards, among others. Here are some suggestions. The first is Bodegas Re, which belongs to one of the Chilean industry's most experienced wine experts, Pablo Morandé. Another recognized vineyard is Matetic, famous for its syrah wine, and a beautiful sustainable vineyard that you must know and taste. Meanwhile, Casas del Bosque is a great place to go not only to appreciate its Terroir but also to taste its white wines that are 100% harvested at night, giving them unique nuances. And for the whole experience, we recommend a visit to Kingston vineyard, located on the slope of a hill that will allow you to appreciate the beauty of this valley as well as delight you with its Pinot Noir, all while being attended to by its owners.
