We live about 1 1/2 hours from here, so we want to feel like the end of the drive will be worth the trip. Munson may be a small museum, but we have enjoyed exhibits as varied as outstanding wood-carving, Seneca Ray Stoddard's photography, Georgia O'Keefe's paintings and a wonderful exhibit with hand-blown glass (an artist whose name escapes me). Never know what they will bring in next, so we check back frequently. This is a friendly place to wander, the security is visible but cordial and the museum's own collection of European masters is featured as well. Always a pleasure.

We saw a concert here in May. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. The seats are comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful. The acoustics were very good for the concert

We've never been so depressed when visiting a zoo!
The animals look like they are on tranquilizers or depressed or both!!
I cannot explain our overall feeling of sadness as we walked from exhibit to exhibit and the worst of all was the primate house. SMH. There are so many better and more sensitive and natural ways to view their habitats than this.
I think we'll all have nightmares about this place. Three thumbs down.

We took the tour for Matt Brewing Co. on a Saturday afternoon. After several brewery tours in the Midwest, we've found many tours to be the same regardless of the brewery - Matt Brewing offers an exception! The building is beautiful and historic, and the guide has a lot to talk about in addition to the standard talk about how brewing works. They also have a huge operation, which adds some interest even if you've toured many micro-breweries before. The tour guide was great and fun, and had some great information and knowledge. The tour ends in the tap room with tickets for two drinks (or a flight), including any of their tap or bottled beverages. The beers we tried were great, as were the sodas. Highly recommended!

Woodland Farm Brewery is a locally owned and operated farm brewery. Every batch of beer uses NYS grains, hops, and other ingredients. Woodland has a focus on creating new and unique beer, barrel aging, casks, and a down to earth atmosphere. With a rotation of food trucks and a family friendly environment, Woodland is a place for anyone to visit. The brewery also supports local musicians and has live music every Sunday and Tuesday! This place is great, love the flights, we get them first and then choose what we will have to drink from there. They are always serving up something new and they keep a few around that prove to be popular.

This building is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. We chose this location for our wedding in July and was it perfect. The atmosphere was great and everyone enjoyed the views. We played music and also had live music playing for our entire ceremony. The Onieda County officials really know how to take care of our beautiful historical buildings.

I do lots of genealogy and this is always one of my stops in Utica. The volunteers who staff the family research area are very helpful and try their best to help you find what you are looking for. Also, unlike other resources in the area, the historical society has the actual documents! This is a very big deal if you are trying to read faded handwriting in a census document from the mid1800s. I tried to find information on microfilm and the writing was so faded that I found nothing until I located the original document at the historical society. This place is a hidden gem!

The Atmosphere in this distillery was delightful, and entertaining! They have a great little tour and I throughly enjoyed the Tasting portion. Everyone of the employees knew their stuff and My family learned a lot about distilling. Everything they do is focused on being local and its great to see a local Distillery and a local Brewery thriving in Utica.

Beautiful neighborhood church, welcoming to all, in West Utica. In the brewery district near Varick St. Nice area with good restaurants, bars, cafes. If you're in the area, the church will probably be open... it's a place that is part of the community.

The Museum currently offers approximately 60 exhibits and experiences throughout four floors of play space. The Museum was adopted by NASA (National Aeronautic & Space Administration) & DOE OS (US Dept. of Energy's Office of Science).and is in the process of being transformed into a hands-on, interactive destination that will impact more than 100,000 visitors over the next five years.

It is closed now, due to a host of headline inducing issues. However, when it was open, we loved to go. The kids really seemed to enjoy it as did we. It wasn't perfect. The manager had an abrasive attitude which was odd given that it was a kid focused facility. This was not directed at me or my children, but it did leave me feeling guarded. There were also temperature issues - sometimes very cold or very hot. Also, some areas were abruptly closed off to the public. It got confusing, so we stopped going then it closed. A lose to the community.
