What to do and see in Utah, United States: The Best Bus Tours

February 9, 2022 Jasper Kershner

Welcome to “The Greatest Snow on Earth” – Utah’s paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts! As host of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City knows how to entertain winter fun seekers. Snowboarders and skiers head for miles of spectacular slopes with deep fluffy powder and breathtaking mountain views. The Olympic Park provides family-friendly ski programs, rides and shows. Alta, Sundance, Snowbird and Brighton are other popular destinations for cross country and Alpine skiers. Those alluring snowy slopes turn to rolling wildflower fields in the summer. Golfing, fishing, horseback riding and water sports replace chilly outdoor sports adventures. Corral the family, pack a picnic and catch one of the ski lifts for an afternoon of hiking or mountain biking along scenic trails. Head to Salt Lake City, where Temple Square hosts millions of visitors a year. Bryce Canyon and Arches National Park are famous for surreal landscapes from horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters to unusual rock formations and hundreds of natural sandstone arches. Closer to home, wander along the quaint main streets of mountain villages to browse, shop and enjoy lunch at an outdoor café. At the end of the day, head home for an outdoor barbecue and an evening of games. Home rentals blend privacy, space and comfort with the cost-saving advantage of eating some meals at home.

It was such a pleasure to spend a few days with Colin in Moab. He knew all the best places to go and the right time to be there. I also appreciated that he was very flexible with the shooting locations. At the last minute we had to bring our dog with us so Collin arranged for photo shoots at some areas outside of the national parks where we could bring the dog. I would highly recommend this trip. If you are wanting to up your photography skills, Collin is definitely the one to help.

Paddle Moab was great from start to finish. Stash (?) patiently answered all of my questions over the phone. Rowan was a competent, calm, and conversational guide and her knowledge of local history enhanced the trip. It was simple to change our tour day with a phone message and Paddle Moab responded quickly with a confirmation voicemail and email. Our ride down the river was mostly calm with a few small rapids - it was early May. The scenery was lovely, and we saw herons, goats, and one young deer. I highly recommend Rowan, Alex (the guide for the kayakers with us), and Paddle Moab. I will definitely use this company again if I have the opportunity to return to Moab.

My husband and I just returned from a week in Moab and my mind keeps returning to our two tours (Arches & Canyonlands) with Paulina. Paulina made the beauty of these incredible places more beautiful because of her love for the desert, her reverence for the plant life, and her deep understanding of the geology. She pointed out little nuances we would never have noticed on our own. I felt like the Arches, “WINDOWS”, were windows into nature’s soul. I have a new found appreciation and respect for the desert and these Mesas thanks to Paulina . . . . It’s like she opened a window into my own soul. Thank you Paulina for your caring ways, being a fun & personable companion, a savvy photographer, and for making a difference! You were the highlight of our trip!

I had such a good experience last year I brought my family back to Vegas just to take some Bindlestiff tours. We went to Death Valley with Tim and it was phenomenal. We all had a great time. It’s basically a sampler platter of quick experiences but that’s perfect for a family with kids. We got to see so much packed into one day. Tim is an excellent guide: friendly, knowledgeable, passionate. The van is very comfortable with plenty of cold water, and lots of restroom stops if you need that. I highly recommend this tour when you’re in vegas, you won’t regret it.

Splash your way down the Colorado River through the rapids of Westwater Canyon, where in addition to rugged desert scenery, there’s the chance you could spot wildlife from soaring bald eagles to river otters and beavers. Over the course of a day, hold on tight as your guide helps navigate the Class III and Class IV whitewater, where rapids have names like Sock-It-To-Me, Funnel Falls and Skull. This trip provides an adrenaline rush amidst walls of red rock canyons, and is great for the traveler who loves a challenge and a bit of desert adventure.
