What to do and see in Universidad, Community of Madrid: The Best Shopping

December 29, 2021 Agatha Simes

So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

DOOC

They opened their well-illuminated shop in the middle of 2015 and it’s located a few paces from Malasana’s colourful Plaza Juan Pujol. Lopez Pascual

What would Faustino Lopez think if he could see the company that he founded nearly 100 years ago in the heart of Madrid? He would likely be proud to know that his legacy of quality and respect for Iberian ham has remained intact in Casa Lopez Pascual. Ahead of his time, Faustino had a clear objective: to sell only the best free-range hams of the meadows of Extremadura, cured in Jabugo, Cumbres Mayores or Guijuelo. The three generations that inherited this tradition of excellence have not only maintained this spirit intact but also made it grow by increasing their offer of pure Iberian ham and widening their range of gourmet products from the best brands. This vast range of viands has been selected with exquisite taste by the current owner of the company: Alberto Lopez.
