We were on a Russian river cruise, and our last stop before reaching Moscow was Uglich. It is a lovely city, and I felt like we were seeing and experiencing the "real" Russia here (both St. Petersburg and Moscow are quite glamorous and cosmopolitan - really like most other big cities, but with glorious architecture). The church was lovely, with beautiful frescoes and a steel tile floor. Definitely one of the highlights of Uglich!

I didn't go inside, but enjoyed seeing the architecture. I enjoyed walking around in Uglich. There are four really interesting churches that I saw.
