We are so glad we chose an overnight stay in Troyes as the city centre has a wealth of medieval buildings such as has long disappeared in the UK. It is a delightful town to wander through, with the river, canals (with playful sculptures dotted around) and lovely old buildings - we have seldom seen so many old timbered houses - as well as nine churches. There is a lively cafe/bar scene too. Having stayed overnight, a return visit looks very likely!

This building used to be an old hospital but has now been converted into a 5 star hotel. Ideally situated to visit this beautiful medieval town all on your doorstep and within easy walking distance
