On our last day in Boise, with time to kill before our flight we just hit the freeway and headed west. Drove through Nampa and didn't see much. Kept on it thinking we would get off in Caldwell, and turn around. Drove past lovely, and clearly in transition, downtown Caldwell. Decided to stop at an "antique" shop and ended up spending tons of time and a bit of money. This place has EVERYTHING you can think of and tons of stuff you couldn't imagine. Lots of the toys of my childhood beckoning me to waste money on them! Also a nice conversation with the proprietor, who I assume is Joe (?), about relocating from California. Great place, worth a visit.

An eclectic mix of Pop Culture goodness. From life sized cardboard cut-outs and coloring books to jewelry, mugs, t-shirts and recycled records, you're sure to find something for everyone! Much of the shop features local and regional artists pop inspired creations. Attractions include: a full scale screen accurate replica of the 11th Doctor's TARDIS, a Hobbit Hole, Captain Kirks command chair (with green screen photo-op), Platform 9 3/4 (w/green screen photo-op), Stranger Things living room, Sherlocks door/Friends door, Stormtrooper, and Idaho's only Zoltar fortune telling machine.

Walking around beautiful, spotlessly clean downtown Boise and stumbled onto Re-pop. AWESOME store. Reminded me of the cool places on Melrose in Los Angeles before the city turned to disgusting. Cool, funny, interesting stuff. Totoro toys, Gizmo, so many comedy shirts and toys from so many super random and obscure movies and games. Amazing stuff, and really cool staff.

When my husband and I were lunching in the Hyde Park historic district of the North End in Boise, we came upon the coolest little house — home to Dunia Marketplace. We were delighted to discover that it's Idaho's only non-profit, fair trade store. The selection is amazing and includes everything from coffee, to table linen, to handbags, to jewelry, to instruments, and much, much more.
