Originally an August birthday present we finally made it here last week. Had to cancel a couple of times due to work and weather (my side not theirs) and they were very good about it each time.
Anyway.
We arrived around 1030 to be greeted by Sarah Brown who made us feel welcome and comfortable as we waited for the others in the big reception centre.
Once all assembled she took us through a brief but very informative history of Llamas and some H&S stuff and tips on how to handle your Llama for the best mutual benefit.
We were each given our Llama and we set off as a pack. There was no rush about it , it was very relaxed.
The llamas find their own position in the pack (mine didn't like to lead) and Sarah took the time to chat to us all individually through the trek, whilst keeping an eye on our surroundings and making sure we were all together.
The trek itself was around 2.5 hrs through the beautiful countryside in the surrounding area.
The Llamas are taller than you imagine face to face but Sarah explained fully their actions and how they literally cannot harm you.
The younger animals were mischievous (constantly wanting to stop for food or attempting to trot) but a gentle but firm tug on the lead brought them back to "heel".
I had Grappa who was a tall white llama, once we were acquainted he returned my neck strokes with rubbing his head on my arm. Sarah said he was wiping his snot on me but I know it was done through love!!
The 2.5 hours flew and on our return Sarah introduced us to all the llamas including the baby ones which was a nice touch.
We were invited to stay at the centre to eat our sandwiches / relax and were in no way rushed off site. Sarah also recommended a couple of pubs on the way home depending on which way you had travelled.
I absolutely loved it and look forward to going again.
If my girlfriend is Reading this HINT HINT!!

The Porsche Experience Centre is situated at Silverstone Circuit, the home of British motorsport, in the heart of England. Located next to Hangar Straight, we are on the site of the WRC Rally of Great Britain Special Stage used in the late 1990s. The specially designed track incorporates six elements; Handling Circuit, The Straights, Kick Plate, Ice Hill, Low Friction and Off-Road circuits. This environment enables visitors to be guided through a variety of different situations in wet and dry conditions, as well as simulating ice and snow driving with the use of specially constructed surfaces. The driving experiences are designed to focus on a particular type of driving, model of Porsche or driving environment. Whether you are hoping to attain new skills, polish up some old ones or just have a great time driving, we can help find the right experience for you.
This was a beautifully organised day - fun, instructive, and challenging at times. We drove the full range of Porsche - and what an experience that was! The chance to handle some of these superb cars and really understand what they are capable of was invaluable. The team that looked after us were superb - being both instructive and making sure we had a good time. They were all such fun to be with, and we would particularly like to thank Keith Hubbard. All this and good food too! Not a lot can beat a day like this!

Stoke Bruerne is a must for anyone interested in canals. The museum is very interesting. I spent several hours studying the exhibits. The footpath up to the tunnel is well worth walking along to see the many barges moored up. You can also see the entrance to the incredible tunnel which is a great feat of engineering. Do this but also take a trip on the canal by barge which will take you just into the tunnel.
There are two pubs. There is one opposite the museum and another beyond the bridge. Both are okay. For those who like curries there is an Indian restaurant just down from the museum. I have eaten there on a number of occasions and the food has been good. There is a dedicated car park where there is a cafe which serves ice creams etc. So if you are in Northamptonshire take a trip out to Stoke Bruerne. The village, itself, is also attractive. There is a good restaurant at nearby Shutlanger.

On March 16th my mates treated me to a surprise dog racing evening at the Towcester race course. The hospitality shown and the whole evening experience was first class.
We had a table of 10 at a cost £15 each which included a meal, free £2 bet, drink voucher, birthday cake and aged '60 years old' helium balloon.
The meal was basic ie. Pie and Chips, but was sufficient for a good evening. Other options were available. I believe we were in the 4000 club ?. There was a better dinning facility upstairs, but ours was warm and sufficient for our group especially on a very cold night.
The ladies loved the flutter and we all had a real hoot on the night.
Well pleased to have race 4 named as the 'Doug Yates 60th Birthday Stakes'.
Even got to have a picture and pat the winner in front of the stand .
Damm .. I wish I had backed it !!
Thanks to all the staff at Towcester Track for a great , fun and memorable evening.
Will definitely do it again no matter what the occasion. -
Need to study the form next time. Ha Ha !

If you're in the area and into local history this is a fantastic place to visit. It's bursting with information on the history of Towcester and the surrounding area, the displays and artefacts are well presented and it's very children friendly with areas where they can make things and dress up. The only downside is that it's not that easy to find as it's a bit tucked away - definitely need to do something about signage/advertising.

This is a must for anyone who wants to know what it would be like driving a F1 racing car. The cars themselves are well maintained and are fun to drive. The circuit has enough of everything to challenge the driver with chicanes and fast corners etc. I would definitely return.

My husband had a really good afternoon but I don't feel the description of this experience gives an accurate impression of what you pay for. I bought through red letter days and the description states "Briefings may be shared. All driving time is held on...MoreReally pleased you husband enjoyed his experience and apologies for the misunderstanding regarding the one to one training. We have contacted red letter days and asked them to amend their listing to the correct details.

Renting one or two bedroom Cottages over the years, has been a tad hit and miss, you expect small but we have been a tad disappointed a few times, climbing across the double bed with only access from one side - toilets that are so small in bathroom's that are really cupboards etc. but not here - full size Bathroom well appointed and warm with yes HOT water every time -- A Queen bed in a good size bedroom and this bed is actually really comfortable getting up near mid day twice having read a really good book in a centrally heated cottage when its nearly zero outside the snow just melting away from that Russian Beast it was hard to leave.
Two TV's upstairs and down a DVD player downstairs though we were out most of the time and having taken 10 dvd's to watch -we watched -none.Zero lol -- Another bonus factor which has caused disappointment in some places previously leaning out of the window trying to get that signal ,which was there a minute ago yep a decent WiFI signal its there all the time and straight on connected every time makes a difference when you are finding new places of interest with reviews and post codes etc
Lounge great, a decent size and there is a gas fire that heats up the special coals so no mess but all the effect of a real fire. The Kitchen is adequate and fully supplied with a good modern oven a decent fridge and microwave so nothing is missed - there is a full size washing machine and separate tumble dryer in the outside building which also doubles as a bike lock up that I used. -parking at the rear easy peasy and on and on .
The real treat for us was the peace -- we live in between the M25 and the North Circular 2.5 miles either way and although you cant say yep I hear that -its there in the back ground and its only when you are sitting Reading in a cottage like this in a small village with only the occasional passing car --its peace and quiet its noticeable and lovely.
To sum up the right cottage in the right place we travelled over 600 miles in just over a week visiting Robin Hoods bay and Whitby and Scarborough and York several times and Beverley loads of times and That fab pub called Nellies (the White horse) with Gas mantles still being used £1.76 a pint and Im told there is one there for £1.30p a pint never tried that and the Aircraft museum at York - the Railway museum at York -Allan's Humber car museum at Hull not to be missed -the Yorkshire Wolds Steam railway as sen on TV -- visit Joe at the Hotham Arms now he is a character and good food ,but phone as he only opens when he seems to feel like it ,but there was a Sicilian birthday party when we went and that had colour and a few laugh's.
The owners Louise and Tom are great give them a ring and book a snug bug in a rug.
