Stopped by a small old school walking into the past of black history. We were met a a young man by the name of Jack Hadley who interestingly enough was the name on the building. The greeting was great and when he turned on the lights, the museum went forever. Four rooms of artifax from local schoold scholars to members of government to NFL football players and so on. Hundreds of photos from the past and some relating to the slavery at plantations. Jack spent more than an hour with us and we just ran out of time for our travelling schedule. You name it, I was there. This is a MUST SEE museum. My hat is off to Jack, JaMarcus and his Board for such a wonderful museum. Government must contribute to this historical museum $$ and with many ways of advertizing same. Many thanks to all!

Victorian period house built in 1885 by Mr. Charles Lapham. House has Queen Anne, Stick and Victorian period elements. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for those 18 and under.
Odd shaped house with plenty of interesting and tragic stories. A great example of community effort to restore a jewel. It has 3 floors which you visit during your tour and no 2 rooms are alike. Highly recommended.

We have a lovely historic site of 3+ acres with eight historic buildings. Visitors can tour the buildings and grounds on their own or as part of a guided tour.
There are several interesting exhibits in the main building. A single lane bowling alley on the grounds, and many other interesting things to explore.

If you're in Thomasville at dinner time this is a good choice for a smart, chic atmosphere and really good food. I had steak/frites which I rarely eat. The steak was quite good and the frites were as good as they get. Just delicious. I'm tempted to return and just eat French fries. Prices are very reasonable and service was excellent. Sweet Grass is best known for excellent cheeses - and they're good. But the steak/frites is worth a trip.

My cousin and I were speed traipsing about Thomasville, Georgia. We decided to have wine and cheese at the Farmer's Daughter, since that is her favorite past time. Our wine tour guide Shannon was wearing a HELLRAISER tee, so my mind did wander when I saw her. She was NOT a Hellraiser fortunately. No one was in the place except for us, so we felt like we were getting the luxury 5 star treatment. Shannon was FANTASTIC! We got a wine tasting and a Deluxe Cheese Plate. The Wines + Cider are provided for wine tasting 5 wines for $8. My favorite one was the red wine, KNOCKOUT. I liked its rich and complex flavor profile. I loved the stellar service, wine,& cheese. Shannon gave us in depth information and was very nice. I liked how she explained each wine and the history of the names of the wine and the Farmer's Daughter. The wines and the Farmer's Daughter evoke a very soulful quality and magic. I would tell you more, BUT it is better to explore and discover the BEAUTY and wonder of the Farmer's Daughter in person.
