San Peyre

As I write this review I am still on holidays and I am looking over at San Peyre. This is a small mountain in La Napoule which I try to run up every morning to excuse the amount of red wine I am consuming! It is a lovely walk a little steep but the views from the top are spectacular. It is walked by people of all ages this moning I met people ranging from 60 plus to a family with two small girls.Well worth the climb for the view!

La Pointe de l'Aiguille

We like this place for the same reasons many reviewers do.
There is actually a little marine park with marked areas you can swim to. (It's not for little chlidren). Most serious snorkellers will bring their booties I would recommend neoprene shoes or sailing booties as the entrance to the water is really stony and a pain to enter ,as it's too shallow to swim from the shore,
The beach itself is reached along a pleasant Promenade that starts at a parking area in town at the bottom of the hill. Come early as the parking fills up and goes all the way up the steep hill above the town, even on weekdays in the summer.
The Promenade is dotted with little cafes and there is a nice restaurant on the beach. Not gourmet but solid snacks and coffee.

Chateau de la Napoule / Musee Henry-Clews

Reviewed By Judybookdoc - Santa Cruz, California

What a fascinating imagination made real by a true genius! Outside of the Salvador Dali Museum in Figeras, Spain, I have never been as stunned by one collection of brilliant creativity.
The grounds are such fun since around every corner one finds a stone sculpture, a carved tomb, an elephant made of old tires, Fountains with water coming out of sculpted faces, playful garden of Eden scene...all from around 1919 [as indicated on the wall holding the initials of wife and husband in a circle of 'C'.
Don't miss this if you possibly can make it. So worth the effort! The first time I went I couldn't match the tour times, but the second time, on the tour, I was able to see where the couple had their meals looking out on the ocean, the studio with Henry's sculptures and paintings, and the lovely castle interior.

Two Islands just a boat ride from Cannes, Ste-Marguerite and St-Honorat, are covered by eucalyptus and pine Forests and are home to Fort Royal.

Reviewed By janeds - Newport, United Kingdom

Took the boat from the port across to the island and had a lovely day out. There is a snack bar and a full restaurant on the island and plenty to see. Just follow the trail and you come across the Abbey where the monks make their wine and there is a gift shop. The ruins of the previous monastery are on the sea’s edge and are well worth a climb up to explore. There are rocky coves around the island where you can have a dip to cool off.

We took the half day trip and added the water sports as an extra.
The trip was real fun and Thibault was very informative and explained various things on the coastline.
We saw fish chasing the anchovies and circling them until the anchovies were pushed to the surface and then a frenzy of feeding.
Managed to do some snorkelling, my son did some knee boarding and we both did the inflatable tube at the end.
A fantastic half day out I would highly recommend to give this a go!
Christelle and Thibault are great and make you feel very welcome, they both speak very good English

We loved it and our 14 and 17 Year old certainly too! We took the 'josephine' randonnée. Very good! Very friendly staff too! But... You actually are (only) a bit more than 1 hour on the jetski (there is a break of 30' on the boat) and so it is a bit too expensive, we think.

Massif de l'Esterel

Reviewed By jg3arrow - Surf City USA

I’ve been trying to get my navigation system to route me along this amazing road between Frejus/Saint-Raphael and Cannes for some time, but it keeps routing me through some comparatively ugly inland mountain road. That way is much shorter and easier, but the road around Cap l’Esterel is worth ignoring the nav & setting out on your own voyage of discovery. Finding the start at either end can be challenging because it goes through heavy tourist and pedestrian areas. But once you are on it, you can’t mess it up. This winding road goes through areas of gorgeous villas, breathtaking vistas of the sea, and the most unique and dramatic red rock formations. At the very tip, there are viewing areas, with free parking, to savor the views. You can see hundreds of miles of coastline in either direction. (WWII coastal watchers were stationed here; the rock and cement pillboxes are still here). Allow a couple of hours to enjoy it. There is also a coastal train ride that traverses the area. Just glorious scenery and among the best sightseeing journeys on the Mediterranean coast!

Nice little place in Cannes old town. We were wandering around looking for a nice place to eat. We had the 27€ fixed menu (included appetizer, main entree and dessert). Everything was fantastic and more than enough. I’d say it’s a great catch and service is also pretty good. I’d definitively recommend it. Two thumbs up.
