We were in town to visit our son and decided if we're in Austin we have to go to ACL. So we bought tickets for Ozomatli & Los Lobos. Took the tour the morning of the concert, partially to get the lay of the land when it wasn't crowded. Concert was great to learn the history of ACL and the theater and all the unique features that were built into it. Lots of free swag at the concert and a great show.

The Wichita Theatre was originally built in 1908, and converted to it's current Art Deco styling in the late '30's. Purchased in 1995 by a local family and restored to it's originally glory, the theatre is now owned and operated by local non profit, 4 Kidz Sake of Wichita Falls. Sporting a state of the art operation, the major Broadway shows produced with local talent have drawn the attention of travelers from across the US. Integrated multi-media with modern special effects, incredible staging and costuming make this facility one of the jewels of Texas. Recently upgraded lobby, restrooms, and concession area make this venue appealing to all who want a warm and welcoming entertainment attraction.

More than 26 million visitors each year seek the dynamic & fine shopping environment uniquely offered by The Galleria, Texas’ largest shopping center and fourth largest domain nationally. International guests and Houstonians blend seamlessly in the center while on shopping excursions or entertaining guests at one of the signature eateries. Spanning 2.4 million square feet of space, housing 400 fine stores and restaurants, two high-rise hotels, and three office towers, The Galleria is Houston’s most popular retail and tourist destination, meeting every style and taste.
This is the epicenter of shopping, walking and people watching in Houston. From great shopping, high end art galleries to ice skating, the Galleria is a great place to see and visit. Due to its popularity, the parking lots fill up quickly, especially in the holiday season. Get there as early as you can and preferably right before it opens to get a good parking spot. The Metro bus# 82 goes east and west by the Galleria and connects to many other bus lines around Houston. This is a must see and visit place in Houston and I highly recommend it,

Originally a rock quarry, part of the tea garden came from a donation by George W. Brackenridge and another section from Emma Koehler. In 1915 Ray Lambert, city parks commissioner, thought it would make a nice location for a lily pond. Ultimately, it grew to become a tea garden. The latest renovations began in 2007 and cost about $1.6 million, compared with the $7,000 Lambert originally spent to open the park. It is a Registered Texas Historic Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places.
This was one of our favorite things that we did on our trip to San Antonio. The gardens are absolutely stunning. More elaborate than most Japanese gardens we've seen before. You enter from above and what was once an old rock quarry is now a beautiful oasis full of lakes, bridges, colorful flowers, loads of steps, a pretty waterfall, and some gorgeous architecture. There's also a little restaurant, but that was closed when were there along with the restrooms. We spent about an hour exploring. It's a beautiful place for taking photos. Surprisingly, it was free, so that was an added bonus. We've been going to San Antonio for years, but this is the first time we've ever visited the gardens. If you love getting outdoors and exploring nature, don't miss this beautiful spot.
