If you’re looking for challenging blacks you won’t find them here. Also the area is quite limited in size. At peak times it can be busy with day trippers & weekenders.
But the plus points outweigh the downsides:
20 mins drive from Innsbruck; a wonderful top-to-bottom run which is 5 miles long; varied terrain; comfy bottom-warming 6seater chairlift & good food & apres on the hill.

The ride up is a regular cable-car, but you have the option to ride the rodelbahn down - a tiny go-cart contraption with a seat-belt carries you headlong down a rail at speed, through tight bends, hurtling down 800m. It is exhilarating, terrifying, wonderful.
Please do not undertake this ride if you are of a nervous disposition and inclined to go slowly or to brake a lot - you will ruin the ride for those who follow you down at intervals, and have to crawl down behind you, once they catch you up!

Spent 2 hours here with my husband and 2 teenagers. All thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Excellent facilities. Very clean. Outside pool has the most amazing views! Finished with an ice cream in the restaurant - huge, delicious and good value. Will definitely pay another visit next time we are in the area.

It is not the biggest ski resort of Austria, but that is what it makes it so nice. You still have space at the pistes and the prices here are nice. It is easy to reach by plane to Innsbruck.
We are comming here for years for a long weekend skiing with friends and we love it here, for the great snow and the friendliness of the people

Rupert Hirner Bungy Jumping

Once I realised this jump was in Austria I just had to do it! Me and my boyfriend headed off, got harnessed up and began the walk over the bridge! As we parted at the top to go to seperation platforms, the enormity of the challenge we faced became all too real. As we climbed down to the platform the views were spectacular but with pulses rapidly beating and legs shaking I wondered was I going to be able to fulfill the jump. Standing at the edge, the countdown began...I was so scared but knew I count face the walk of shame so I just let myself go....and it was amazing! Free falling at crazy speed I screamed the whole way ! Once gently bounced back up and down I began laughing feeling so exhilarated and free! This truly was the most scariest yet adrenaline fuelled experience of my life and I recommend it to anyway who has ever dreamt of doing a bungee! The price was€164. You receive certificate, tshirt and can of red bull afterwards to get the sugar back into body !! Best day out ever!!

Muttereralm Mountain Cart

We stayed in Sporthotel Nockhofweg, Mutters.
About 10 minutes walk from village centre, 3/4 minutes from the tram stop,a uphill walk to Muttereralm and 10 minuets from Mutters outdoor swimming pool.
A quiet beautiful village which has won best Tirol village several times.
The best way is to buy 1, 2 or 3 day Innsbruck Pass which gives entry to numerous Mountains, museums and places of interest plus some transport including the tram to Mutters.
Lots of free hiking trips and so many things to do.
Paths are well marked for walkers or if less ambitious the views alone are stunning.
We have visited this area at all times of the year for over 30 years and fully recommend the area.
They always aim to improve the region. The cable cars take prams, pushchairs and wheelchairs plus transport bikes up the mountain.
Bikes can be hired as can ski equipment and sleds in winter.
A child's ski school and ski lessons for all ages are also available.
We used the new mountain carts last September, hired sleds in winter and enjoyed the free snow walking events.
The village swimming pool which also has tennis courts has a good restaurant. Huts on Muttereralm do excellent meals.
For family fun, or couples/ singles
This is almost next to heaven.

Hi I am very well-traveled
When you think about traditional Austria this drive is exactly what you're looking for
The valley that leads to the mountain is all of the traditional triolein homes and mountain eateries
There are several fabulous places to turn off and take a quick walk to an amazing waterfall or stop at a great playground
Also fabulous hikes abound!
Once you get to the mountain you can choose to go halfway up or all the way up we chose the middle region where the glacier begins
There's a wonderful playground a great restaurant we had snow while we were up there in the middle of August!! An actual snowstorm!!
I would say dress warm but if you're just going to be up there for an hour you don't really need snowsuits and all the rest maybe just a warm jacket and a hat if you have it!
If you have kids with you bring a change of clothes as they get all wet playing in the snow!
Have a glass of wine enjoy the scenery and relax!

Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen

Mieders Alpine Coaster

Reviewed By DarrenJ75 - SE London

This a really great afternoon, not that cheap but great. My dare devil 6 y/o loved it., although she had to go down on someone's lap because of restrictions. My nervous 8 y/o was really scared before hand, she was in her own cart tied to mine. Once she went down once she loved it.
It's just the right side of scary if you go full throttle, but you can go as slow as you like.
Which is my only criticism (other than the price). When some goes down really slow they don't hold you back if you're going next which means you have to stop and it basically causes a traffic jam. It's really annoying when you pay a lot of money. On the final go there was an old lady going down at walking pace. It ended up with 12 people stop starting behind her.
Other than that it's fun, fast and safe.
