Interstate State Park

This unique park is located in both Minnesota and Wisconsin and offers camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and rock climbing.

One of the best parks close to metro area to climb and prepare for a national park hiking trip. The trails have some steepness and ruggedness to give you a nice workout. Challenging, but hey it's Minnesota and the vertical is what it is...the uphill is not long. Park is well maintained. Beautiful scenery overlooking river. You can white water kayak if you're a very experienced paddler.

Spent the day at wild mountain yesterday for our son's birthday. Skiing is offered free on your birthday with proof of age. Great perk! It wasn't very busy until around 4 and even then the lift lines went fast. We purchased lessons last minute for our 5 year old daughter who had only skied once last year. The registration employees were very accommodating and knowledgeable. The ski instructor was great and afterwards our 5 year old did so much better and had more confidence. It's amazing what can be taught/learned in an hour. Well worth the money to get lessons for newbies. Another perk is the 4th grade passport offered through MSAA. You can purchase a season pass for your 4th grader for $36 and get discounted or free lift tickets at area ski hills. Found out about this on wild mountains website. Great deal! Thanks for participating in this program wild mountain! We all had a great time and there is enough variety of hill levels for adults, teens and young kids.

During a beautiful Fall drive through the country, my husband and I noticed the sign on the side of the road and decided to stop. We're so glad we did. Quaint tasting room that opens to a beautiful patio area on warmer days....knowledgeable and friendly servers....with sixteen different wines/hard ciders to try. We enjoyed the wine tasting experience, and had a hard time choosing our favorites! Seems like a multi-generational family business, and all staff were welcoming. Stop by- you'll be glad you did :)

Featuring 4 waterslides, hydro fountains, a cargo climbing net, water cannons & bubblers. The Wild Adventure Island is nestled within the calm confines of the 800 foot serpentine Lazy River. We enjoyed a great day at Wild Mountain this past Labor Day weekend. The kids rode the alpine slide (many times!), the go karts, played in the water slides and the lazy river and especially enjoyed jumping from the freefall! The staff we encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful and the grounds and building were very clean. Our kids did not want to leave at the end of the day! We will make the short trip from the Twin Cities again once the snow falls so we can enjoy skiing and tubing. We will definitely be back!
