I actually went to two tours (also did Rio Tempisque) with Native's Way. Our guide Gustavo was friendly and very informative, telling us about the plants birds, and of course about the wonderful volcano fumaroles, mud puddles, etc. Gustavo was a good driver, and accommodated our need to have occasional bathroom or snack stops. One suggestion to Native Way would be to be a little more clear about what to bring along; we did not need a change of clothes after the hot spring dip, as there were changing room. I would definitely book again with these folks next time I vacation in Tamarindo.

The pool training was first class giving great confidence for the following day out in the open water. Risky, yes that's the name of our instructor!, was anything but that - very professional and super patient when needed. The open water dive was hampered slightly by the weather but still managed to see an amazing array of marine life including white tip reef shark, moray eel and most spectacular and graceful manta ray - truly awesome! Risky was brilliant with my partner who was diving for the very first time, it made her experience being able to relax and enjoy the dive knowing she was in safe hands. The place didn't disappoint. The numerous waterfalls and trail was great experience. Definitely worth-visiting.

I spent a week with this hostel's surf camp this November and it was the best way to begin my costa rica travel! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Santiago was my instructor while I was there- he is super lovely and really cares that you enjoy your time with the waves! I got frustrated with myself but he always showed us how to slow down and take it all in so that we made memories of a lifetime! If you want to begin surfing, go see Santiago and his crew in Tamarindo! ????❤
