Oregon Observatory at Sunriver

There’s no better place! The local elevation, pitch dark surrounding and crystal clear air make it perfect for star gazing. You won’t be lining up for one telescope. The Oregon Observatory is the largest astronomical viewing facility in the United States. Feast your eyes on far away galaxies. Recognize the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter. Witness a meteor shower. Get a glimpse of globular clusters, nebula and deep space binary stars.

This was such an interesting tour to do. The stars are amazing and being able to see different galaxies and the rings of Saturn were a highlight for me. The staff were so knowledgeable and quickly set up different telescopes so we could see various planets etc. This was a real highlight.

The Village at Sunriver

We came to watch the “Dog Can Pull” in the Village! What fun as dog of all sizes pulled respective sizes of “empty” beer cans (16 oz to Kegs)! Afterwards enjoyed strolling through the many shops and watching the ice skaters at the Ice Rink (turns into Miniature Golf during the warmer months)! We also saw several nice Restaurants and a Ice Cream parlor, so will definitely be back to check them out! Well worth your time!

This place is set up extremely well. Water slides, water obstacle course, lazy river and several pools. Lots of lounge chairs but not a lot of shade. We spent about half a day there and just kept moving our chairs into the shaded spots. There a numerous lifeguards in all of the areas and very attentive. Highly recommend a visit.
