The Skimmer is a 40 foot pontoon boat built for eco-tours in the calm waters of the back bay wetlands. Cape May County is one of the best locations in the U.S. to observe birds and their migrations. The salt marsh is home to an incredible number of species both above and below the waterline and we can share it all with you. Our Captains and Naturalists are experienced professionals who can explain things in a way so nature lovers of all levels will understand. Stone Harbor Location: Trips leave from The Wetlands Institute. We encourage our guests to visit there as well and make a day out of it. From mid June to late August, trips leave from this location on Tuesday afternoons/evenings through Thursday afternoons. Call or go online for more info or to make a reservation. Tatham Life Saving Station is one of the sites featured in the New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge. I'm unsure about regular open house hours. However, this is a good place to stop and learn about the history of the Jersey shore and take in a great view of the ocean and bird sanctuary in Stone Harbor.

Seven Mile Beach

Avalon and Stone Harbor are the two towns on this barrier island.

Reviewed By oscarbB7346GJ

Avalon/Stone Harbor Beaches rate among the very best of New Jersey beaches, and actually along the entire Atlantic Ocean. I have been on beaches in every state from Massachusetts to Florida. Seven Mile Beach is definitely among the best 2-3.
