Altstadt Steyr

Our car and one more standing nearby was damaged in the night on the weekend 8-11 december. We parked as offered by stadthotel Styria in the garage/parking area in the old town. On departure day we found out that the window from driver side was totally broken. We had nothing special in the car but everything was upside down. This parking area (5 min on foot from hotel styria and mader) was in fact not safe (no cameras, no security). Take care and don't leave bags and money in the car.

The church and the Chriskindl post office over Xmas are one of the must do things in Steyr. The church is very impressive inside and if you ask for a information leaflet in English, they do have one.

Bei der Kassa kann man sich entscheiden mit oder ohne Erlebnisbahn. Diese Bahn ist echt ein Erlebnis. In Kleinstgruppen fährt man elektrisch durchs halbe Haus.

Most churches in Austria are catholic church (different from Germany and Netherlands). If you have enough time to walk around in Steyr this church is worth to visit because of its glorious and exquisite design. You have a completely different insight compare the one like St. Stephen in Vienna. I spent view minutes to enjoy the fresh air and the atmosphere insight.

Schloss Lamberg

Reviewed By julu2020 - Vienna, Austria

the main sight of steyr, a beautiful old castle that has been lovingly restored. in the courtyard there are famous statues of little men with traditional costumes and jobs. they also keep alpine ibexes (capricorns?) at the castle and you can see them chilling in the sun or jumping around. in the summer they always have theater and musical festivals at the castle.
when you walk down from the castle you get a beautiful view of the 2 rivers crossing and the michaela church.
