One of my friends told me about the museum and we decided to go to Steyl in order to visit it. Upon arrival we were kindly greated and shown a video about the history of the town and the museum. It was very informative and it gave us more insight into the town's build-up and the origins of the museum. After that we entered the museum. On display, there is a combination of taxidermy and objects from different continents. It is not a very large museum but it has a very extensive collection! They have most animals you can thinks off, some even in duplicates. Especially the butterfly room was stunning. The objects were interesting too, although the signs that accompanied them were often basic. I would have liked some more information with some objects. The museum has a gift shop, but it was mostly closed because of covid-19. At the end of your visit you'll also pass by a taxidermy bear, which is wired with mechanics. If you put a coin in, it'll move. Fun little extra. Tickers cost 10 euros. With a Museumkaart its free. It is a great day trip with kids, they're bound to live it.

A botanical garden founded by a local priest. Wel maintained with a Nice collection. Cheap entrance and good cathering.
