Peaceful Bend Vineyard

Peaceful Bend Vineyard is a rustic winery filled with charm and love located west of Steelville. We are dedicated to providing our winery guests with a warm welcome and tasty Missouri-made wine, beer and food. Currently we are rebuilding after a fire and moved into a new building in April of 2018. We are still working on several projects in and around the property, so please excuse our 'dust'. Our kitchen offers a full lunch menu from 11am-6pm Thursday through Sunday, so be sure to stop in for a delicious bite to eat along with your wine or your beer!

Bass River Resort

We arrived on a rainy weekend for a camp and float. The check-in process was busy but the staff was efficient and friendly. We brought our own kayaks to accompany our group that was renting kayaks through the resort and we paid to put-in/take-out/parking fee. On the day of our float, the rain had caused high river levels which meant we couldn't put in at the planned river or location, however, the resort and staff handled this perfectly! They transported our kayaks with so we could go with our friends to the new put-in location/river at no extra charge. They were so accommodating to all the guests, making what could have been a major bummer into a fun and easy trip! I will definitely go back if this is how they always handle unexpected conditions and customer satisfaction. Other than their service, the resort is clean, has nice big trees for shade, beautiful grounds with horses, and a nice store and pizza place. Only thing I wish they had is gravel or concrete RV pads since it was a downpour the first night and muddy in spots.

Huzzah Valley Resort

Went to Huzzah Valley Resort for the first time. Checked in Sunday afternoon and left on Thursday. Stayed in RV site 105, everything was clean and well ran. Spent Monday at Taum Sauk mountain and Johnson's Shut-Ins. Kayaked from Huzzah Valley to Scotia on Tuesday and did Harper's Slab to Scotia on Wednesday. Entire staff was friendly and accommodating. All facilities were clean and well maintained. Had no issues with noise from other campers at any point during our stay. Will definitely NOT be my last time!
