The town is located southeast of the High Tatras in the Spiš region, and lies on both banks of the Hornád River. It is the biggest town of the Spišská Nová Ves District (okres). As of 2006 the population was 38,357.

If you looking for best view this is the right place. You will feel like a bird. The highest tower in Slovakia and you observ the longest square in Slovakia too. Worth visit specially in nice weather

Our Orthodox church is located in the center of Spisska Nova Ves. In the church, there are performed regular worships (the worship schedule is on the website, please feel free to contact us for more details) and Sunday school.
