Very pretty Park - large wooded areas, hiking trails, picnic tables, grills, duck pond, fishing, swimming pool, tennis court, covered gazebo, band shell, swings & playground. Something for everyone. Well maintained and clean. Many trees, shrubberies and flowers. Sunny & shady spots. Popular place. Lots of parking available. Enjoyable outing.

I've been coming here since I was a child. We love the donuts and usual leave with 2 or 3 dozen. All of the homemade pies and pastries are delicious. Cider available to purchase by the cup. Apples of course are always great and pick your own is a must!

The family and I visited the Lake Compounce lights display on Thanksgiving weekend to begin the holiday season. It was surprisingly crowded on that first night, considering it was quite cold. The giant lighted Christmas tree by the entrance was a wonderful sight to see. The train ride around the park with Christmas music was fun with the many lighted figures and signs along the way. We even dared to go on a few of the smaller rides that were open, if we bundled up. We found the building where Santa was posing for pictures with help from the elves. The hot chocolate was popular that night. The synchronized light and music presentation that occurred every so often at certain areas of the park was really entertaining. We even picked up a few holiday item souvenirs at one of the gift shops. It was a great way to get into the holiday spirit and we enjoyed it.

My husband and I did The Book of Spells room for Valentine’s Day and had a blast. Challenging and clever clues, with really impressive quality props. Staff was super friendly. We liked that you could choose to have the room to yourselves (as opposed to being placed with strangers). We will definitely be back.
If you’re new to escape rooms, you should probably have at least 3 or 4 people for this room.

We were looking for a ski area that was good for beginners and intermediate skiers. This location had both. The view of the mountain from the lodge was nice to watch my kids from inside as i warmed up. All staff members were super helpful and the area wasn't over crowded like the highly advertised places.

As a top flight Museum-ite world wide, this ranks as one of my favorites. Matthew right size, excellent mix of art types with offerings always surprising delights. Easy free parking, free admission Saturdays til noon, local fare tasty cafe (til 3pm). Be refreshed & gently elevated by a visit. You will leave smiling.

Another new microbrewery in the Southington area! Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. On the Rails to Trails, a large renovated warehouse with a small outdoor patio offers a large variety of beers. Bring your own food and make an afternoon of sampling with friends!

Went to entertain the oldest member of the group--my husband knew most of the characters-(did the man ever leave the tv and comics?) and this endless journey through the aisles of the past had husband, his son and HIS son laughing and amazed. The collection is displayed well-and the lady who greets one at the entrance is pleasant, knowledgeable and I enjoyed chatting with her while my family wandered all over. The gallery also is full of wonderful items to just enjoy seeing or to collect. A definite artsy/kitchy place!!

We really loved our visit here! The surrounding area is beautiful and this provides a fantastic view! I was thrilled that my mom could enjoy the views without feeling like she was in danger and she didn't have to hike there (although you can). She is so afraid of heights and this provided the best opportunity for her to enjoy the overlook. My husband and I took full advantage of the view from the tower and even climbed out on the rocks for some great photos. It only takes an hour to visit especially if you drive to the top so don't miss it!

My granddaughter plays youth softball for an area team. Like many grandparents we enjoy watching the kids compete and play. On many occasions we have had to travel to Panthorn Park for games. The town got it right when they designed this. It’s huge with so many ball fields for competition. It also offers for its’ residents areas for basketball, tennis, soccer, lacrosse and a playground area for toddlers and younger children. There is also a concession area but I'm unsure of the hours of operation. Good job.
