Venture to the less-visited southern regions on this history-packed sightseeing tour. Two seaside ancient sites, including Saida home to a traditional soap factory and centuries-old sea castle and Tyre, where you’ll have time to explore a Roman-era hippodrome and quaint fishermen’s port. Driving the highway to Saida is smooth and lovely. The Crusades seas castle is where we start our visit, a splendid old sand stones floating fortress protecting the city sea front where lies the old busy souks of Saida. The traditional soap factory, the small shops, the butcher next to the local pastry tiles, the wooden craft street and the “Craque des Chevaliers” will enrich your memories with more surprising involvements in Lebanon’s diversity and cultures… The highway again, further deep towards the South of Lebanon where lies the city of Sour or Tyre, the “Bass” Roman hippodrome, the sea ruins, the fishermen’s port and those restored neighborhoods.

We had an amazing, full day with Ali of Habibi Tours. Ali’s communication before our trip was excellent, and he picked us up right at our hotel near AUB. Our first stop was Jeita Grotto, where we walked through the first cavern, then took the fun boat ride through a second cavern. Next we continued to Batroun to walk around a bit and see the Phoenician wall followed by a quick stop at Chez Hilmi for the local lemonade. Ali’s company and conversation were wonderful throughout. We were a little ahead of schedule so Ali asked if we’d like to visit a beach, since the weather and sea were perfect. We said yes, and had a quick swim at Joining Beach. (Be sure to bring a suit and towel just in case!) Next stop was Byblos to see the ancient ruins and small souks. After a late lunch we headed back to Beirut. Everything about our tour was great. Spending the day with Ali was like visiting an old friend in a new place. Highly recommended!

I stayed in a Cheez Hospitality property for a month while living in Beirut for work. I have to say that Cheez Hospitality is the best company for short-term and long-term stays in Lebanon! I was so lucky to be introduced to Joe, Fadel, and Bashir who not only were professional but incredibly kind, generous, and friendly. As the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading throughout the country, they made an effort to check-in on me, connect on a personal level, and even share their food with me. I simply cannot forget the homemade Lebanese dishes cooked by their moms and will return to Lebanon to join them once again sometime soon. Forever grateful for the support, care, and professionalism, and I highly encourage anyone to stay in any of their incredible properties located in very central locations across the country.
