Really fantastic day-trip. Just the two of us, together with our guide who seemed to be a bottemless pit of knowledge about the sites we visited and their history. But almost more importent to us was her willingness to share her experience and wealth of knowledge about everyday life in Goa today. Our only disappointment was that we were not able to enter the caves - especially having seen similar caves (in North Goa) on line. Not sure whether she felt we were too old to cope with the physical effort involved or the access was no longer possible. But it really didn't spoil the whole experience and we would recommend it to anyone interested in the historical and archaeological background to the region.

If you are interested in adventure and expeditions and like to spend time in nature make sure to go on this expedition. On meeting Mrinmayee and Omkar at Miramar Circle they swiftly drove me to the first cave and enroute gave me a brief on how the day would progress and the caves that we would see. Both M and O are affable and polite and they will patiently answer all your questions on history, architecture, Goan life etc. The tour includes breakfast and lunch and they ensure you sample local Goan cuisine. They drive you to the entrance of every cave, share details of its history, origin, present ASI accreditation and interesting local trivia. You can spend as long as you want at the cave. Omkar is also a naturalist so along the way I also engaged in some bird watching! If the sun doesn't bother you and you are not lazy to walk, don't miss out this expedition. It has no negatives that I can think of!

Had a wonderful tour of Chandor today with Ram. He was also generous to add a few additional stops, since I was the only person in the tour and hadn't been in the area before! He was incredibly knowledgable about Goa history and really filled in a lot of gaps for me in my understanding of the history of this area. Really appreciated the attention and his tailoring the tour to me and my knowledge level (quite low when it comes to history, in general, much less Indian history) and made it relatable to me, making it more likely I will remember it!
