South Carolina has some great beaches along its eastern coast. Among the most notable of these is Myrtle Beach, the hub of the grand strand and the largest resort on the east coast of South Carolina. This silky stretch of white sand is great for water-sports such as sailing and surfing. South Carolina is also regarded as one of the top golfing destinations in America. South Carolina has some notable historic towns which are worth visiting such as Charleston.

They had bar food available but I just sampled the beer. I am a certified beer judge & home brewer. All beers were well made and the server was quite knowledgeable. THEY DID NOT OFFER FLIGHTS. This was disappointing as I would have liked to try more beers. They did have 6 oz pours but that was more beer than I wanted.

We checked to see what breweries are in Charleston and then checked their beer ratings on untapped. After seeing their high ratings we knew we had to visit. We met Adam the brew-master and were blown away by his quality of beers. We spent more time there than we had planned but the beers were so good we had to try more and different ones. We also purchased cans and crowlers to go which we traveled home with. If you are a craft beer lover you MUST visit Charles Towne Fermentory. Do not miss them!!!

Having seen this establishment on several occasions while driving down Highway 11 on the way to Atlanta we decided to check it out and we are so glad we did. If you live at the Reserve your options for a place to visit within a 15 minute drive are limited. According to Evan, the young man that served us, they are open on the weekends and have a band and food truck on Friday and Saturday, and depending upon which Thursday night you visit you have open mic or a local jam session where you bring your own instrument and play with local musicians. We had already eaten when we arrived so can not speak to the Food Truck that was there but nice to know you have different options if you choose to eat on site. There were several varieties of beer to choose from and even some canned options if you desire. We chose a brew from Palmetto Brewing Company and an Oktoberfest brew, both were good. We enjoyed the band and tapped our feet to the blues and southern rock that was played. On chilly nights they will have a fire burning too. This establishment is a welcome destination and we will be going back.

We enjoyed an afternoon at Blind Tiger in downtown Charleston so learned about local breweries and got several recommendations. Lots to see & do in town and on islands & beaches, including Ft Sumpter tour, so we could only squeeze in a visit en route to the airport. Holy City is in a friendly industrial room with many choices and good food (the pretzels are sin-fully good!), so we enjoyed ourselves just a few minutes from CHS. It's the kind of place where you may not mind hearing about (another) flight delay. Cheers.

Great craft beer brewery tucked away in a quiet little plaza. We had excellent beer, and the young man at the bar was just awesome to talk with. My husband had a flight, and a pint of the Salty Dog Amber, and I had a couple pints of the Sourshifter with Peaches. All were delicious. If they served food we would her stayed longer.

David our bartender was excellent ! He made some great suggestions on what beers to try in a flight and which bottles to buy to take home. Very nice big taproom, good selection of beer styles, and large outdoor patio. As a bonus while in this part of town, there are 2 other smaller breweries,Two Blokes Brewing open Sat. noon to 10pm and Ghost Monkey Brewery open Sat. 11am to 10pm that are within a mile of Westbrook Brewing.

RJ Rockers Taproom and The Silo

RJ Rockers Brewing Company opened in 1997. In Feb 2018 we added a kitchen, converted some warehouse space to seating, added heating and air conditioning. We have taken the Rockers flavors you love and have created approachable beer-inspired food. Each dish was born in the brewery, crafted in the kitchen, and delivered into your hands. If you’re thirsty and hungry, you might as well EAT WHERE THE BEER IS. Please come visit us. We have live music on the brewery side every Thurs, Fri, Sat night.

While visiting the area we stumbled upon RJ Rockers and we were very impressed. We got there a few minutes before they were serving food but they sat us right away with no issue. Our server was wonderful and very knowledgeable, I think his name was Zack (but I don't remember for sure). Three of us shared a few appetizers and it was more than enough food. Plated beautifully and the flavors were outstanding. We had the apple cider and the pool boy beers, both were delightful. We were extremely happy we found this gem and will definitely be coming back next time we are in the area! Wish we had one in our area.

We came to Charleston to check out some breweries. I’d never heard of this one but it was our first stop. I’m so glad we came here! The selection of beers was great. We did two flights and it was so hard to choose. We really enjoyed all the beers we tried. Plus the outdoor seating area was spacious. Love having an outdoor option especially during Covid. The staff/owners were super nice. They thought I’d left my sunglasses and found us at our next brew stop just to see if they were mine. That’s above and beyond! Will definitely be back next time we are in town.
