Bagni della Regina Giovanna

We were blessed with beautiful sunny February weather and took the walk here from the centre of Sorrento. We followed the Sunflower walking guide which managed to avoid walking along the main roads, but without it we wouldn't have found these hidden routes. I highly recommend this book - mine is 15 years old and still accurate! The walk there is actually lovely (if you avoid the roads) the path down to the cove from the main road is steep though, so it's quite a trek back up. But we loved it and we only saw one other person while we were there, but of course it was February! There are the remains of an old Roman villa and a few little areas of the original white mosaic floor remain if you are eagle-eyed enough to spot it...(the other visitor to the site showed us) The views on the way back towards Sorrento are very pretty. You can imagine all the people throughout history who have bathed here - it's quite something!

Worth a day visit. We walked from Sorrento ( 1 hour each way) which was good exercise rewarded by a day at this relaxing quiet beach with clean water and few tourists, which is why we came. Incidentally everything here is less expensive than Sorrento which is an added bonus but not a reason to visit in of itself.

Leonelli's Beach

We checked out 4 different private beach areas while in Sorrento. IMO this is the best. The trick to these in my experience is to know that you are going to pay probably more than you think is right. Once you get past that, pretty awesome. Dedicated spots with chairs and sunbrella, nice volcanic sand, outstanding swimming area good for all ages, including spots to dive off the rocks, very polite service and pretty good quality food. 2 chairs and umbrella is €28, a gigantic 1L ice cold beer is €12, entrees are either side of €15. You keep your spot as long as you want all day if you choose. Service is right to your spot. Options are right on the sand or on the elevated promenades. Compared to beach spots in other places in the world of course it’s very expensive, but when you see the options that are in Sorrento, it makes sense because the sandy beach spots are very rare.

Scrajo Mare

I nostri servizi: lettini_sdraio_ombrelloni_spogliatoi_vasca termale_ristornate_bar.
