Meet your tour guide,at 7 am a trained 4WD specialist, and climb aboard a custom-built, four-wheel drive vehicle. Your guide is also a certified member of the Mount Batur Guide Association, You will first visit to explore Lava Ball Point. Hop out of the vehicle and feel the incredible Kintamani landscape surround you. You will find a large cave formed from a lava flow and you will wonder if you are on a different planet. The second stop is the volcanic lava flow of 1964. How did it happen? Your tour guide has the answer. As the guide navigates the four-wheel drive vehicle through the lava fields to get there, you will witness the local farmers working in their small fields and vegetable gardens. To complete your day, stop for lunch and a long soak in the healing waters of Batur Natural Hot Spring. Enjoy the photographic panorama of beautiful Lake Batur from a completely different angle.

The sunrise hike was unlike any hike I've done before. If you can get past the early wake up call, you will not regret spending the early morning hours climbing Mt. Batur. Our guide, Leon, was very attentive to our group and took breaks as we needed them during the climb. He was knowledgeable about the area and was also happy to answer any other general questions about Bali. At the base, before the hike started the guides asked if any hikers wanted walking stick, we were unsure if we "needed" it-- let me tell you YES you want the walking stick!! The volcanic rock at some points during the hike is so light and lose it is hard to get uphill traction so the stick definitely helped :) Also when they recommend warm clothing/ jacket be prepared you will need it at the start and at the top, especially if the winds are blowing like they were for us. It was unreal to watch the sky go from near darkness to full sunrise. The viewpoint from where we watched allowed us to see the clouds changing shape and colour opposite from the sun and it was surreal. After sunrise our guides showed us where some of the “steam” from the volcano was coming out.

This adventure was flawlessly executed. The entire team were organised, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Special call out to Edy who ran the day and WAYAN , our 4wd guy. He was incredibly skilled. The whole experience fantastic. In terms of the actual trek, Do be aware it’s quite challenging, but not too long.
