This is your typical visitor center with maps and pamphlets to pick up but it also has a nice taxidermy collection as well as some native artifacts and other interesting things. Worth a stop.

A rich wildlife place,Surrounded by the Kennai river,lakes and forest.
It is like visiting Alaska in short drives and as long as you wish trails,with encounters of the different faces of Alaska.

This is our third trip to Alaska and we are glad we found Alaska Drift Away Fishing on our first trip, and we will certainly use them on future trips. This trip we fished for silver salmon with Jeremy and we caught our limit within a few hours and then spent some time trout fishing. The second fishing day with Nick was not a good weather day but he tried hard to find the fish for us. Both Jeremy and Nick are passionate about what they do and it shows every time we are with them. I do not routinely fish so I know I am probably a challenge for them but they are both patient and helpful. I would highly recommend these guys, no matter your level of fishing skill they will make sure you enjoy your time on the river. Thanks for another great fishing experience and we are already planning our next trip.

The beer here is decent, we ordered two flights for a total of 8 different samples. Favorites were Skilak Scottish Ale, Kenai Session IPA, Sunken Island IPA. The food menu looked very good, but we were not hungry. Friendly staff and very comfortable tasting room made this a fun stop for the evening. We’d visit again.

My husband and I visited during the first part of August and although the Salmon run was slowing, we really wanted to try our hand at Sockeye Salmon Fishing. Kevin Thurman was not only a great guide, he was a fantastic teacher! We not only went home with a crazy amount of late-run fish but sound basic knowledge and confidence for this type of fishing. He is an expert fisherman and knows this land intimately. Many other guides appeared to be watching him to know where and how to get the best fish. Truly the best guide out there. Thank you so much Kevin for the experience of a lifetime!

We stopped in this cluster of early Alaska museum and was pleasantly surprised at how
much we learned from an original homesteader and volunteer. I think her family name was Mullen or McMullen but in any case she was very informative and escorted my friend and I around the cluster of buildings on the premise. She had walked all the way from Moose Pass to claim their land with her husband.
The museum has a good collection of early Alaska artifacts, animal/wildlife collection.
It is definitely worth a stop.

Located right beside the river, this centre is staffed with really helpful people. Although on the small side there are a good range of exhibits and plenty of tourist information to consult and take away. After you have left the centre why not have a walk on the boardwalk just below the centre and if the salmon are running you may find it very interesting.

We needed a place to camp. This place is okay. Pit toilets, sites are not very private, you can see everyone around you. Fortunately, it was empty when we were there. Near a river and near town which was a plus.

The best place to bring your fish for commercial grade vacuum sealing and any of your other fish handling needs. They take great care of you here. Their vacuum seal machine is the best on the peninsula using thicker packing materiel than anywhere else in the area-The fish lasts forever in your freezer, with no freezer burn unlike the cheap bags others use. I have tried several other processing places and nowhere else has the quality of this place. I send all my clients here to get their fish processed. They also carry dry ice, frozen sea food and lots of different fish spices.
