Skopelos (Greek: Σκόπελος) is a Greek island in the western Aegean Sea. Skopelos is one of several islands which comprise the Northern Sporades island group, which lies east of the Pelion peninsula on the mainland and north of the island of Euboea. It is part of the Thessaly region. Skopelos is also the name of the main port and the municipal center of the island. The other communities of the island are Glossa and Neo Klima (Elios). The geography of Skopelos includes two mountains over 500 m (1,640 ft); Delphi (681 m/2,234 ft) in the center of the island, and Palouki (546 m/1,791 ft) in the southeast. With an area of 96 square kilometres (37 sq mi) Skopelos is slightly larger than Mykonos (85 km/33 sq mi) and Santorini (73 km/28 sq mi). The nearest inhabited islands are Skiathos to the west and Alonissos to the east.

This must have been my favourite bar during my trip in Skopelos (and I kept visiting it every night). We arrived very late at night, after 2am and there were still a few people sitting in the outdoors area. Music was American retro chill 90s mixing perfectly with the setting. Beautiful flowering bougainvilleas decorated with red and blue lights, traditional island floors, and an amazing sea view, overlooking the boats in harbour (the bar is situated on the seafront road of the port). Personnel were very friendly, welcoming us at the bar and the island in general, dressed in tropical shirts and dresses. The cocktails were amazing (even though a bit pricey). We just loved this place!

Platanos Jazz Bar

This was the first stop of our night bar hopping. The bar is situated on the port seafront road, and it was named after the huge tree under which all the tables are placed (Platanos) The way the tree surrounds the whole place, the little evening lights, the soft music, and the port view, all these give the place a somewhat exotic vibe. We loved this place, not only for its scenery, but also for its casual setting with traditional tables and chairs, the casual but friendly approach of the personnel, the local options of cold beer and of course the nature surrounding it!

Vrachos

We arrived around 11pm and the place was buzzing, mostly by young people in their 30s. We got a sea view table which overlook the harbour from the tallest hill which is just a 5 min walk from the port through the old city alleys. We had a small talk with Mina, who runs the place, and then had a look at the menu which is available online through a QR code to be found on your desk. A scan with your phone cam, provides you with a full menu. The place is decorated with beautiful candle lights, and trees, some island tables, as well as regular ones. Cocktails are a bit pricey, but the view is totally worth it. You get to see all boats parked in the harbour and travelling to and from the nearby islands, creating a picturesque scenery with their evening lights. Strongly recommended!

We were looking for a bar to have a nice cocktail! We found the best place! Excellent view of the port especially at night! Really nice cocktails and the feeling of being in a Greek island due to the decoration. They served us a few fruits to accompany our drinks!
