M/V Guimaras (Julien's Wreck)

The M/V Guimaras of Compania Maritima, located 3 km from the shores of Punta Bulata, is a merchant vessel that seems to have run aground on a reef. Some speculate that a seaquake sank the Guimaras. Its depth is shallow at only 6-7 meters while the surrounding area can go as deep as 10-15 meters. The wreck site is covered with colorful, brilliant corals and abounds with fish.

Sugar Beach

Reviewed By G2Kpauly - Melbourne, Australia

I've been going around Philippines for 6 weeks so far and this is my favourite beach I've come across. It is so quiet and not many tourists to enjoy your time on the sand and in the beautiful water. The water is blue and clean. There is not much trash. You will need a pump boat for 20 pesos per head across the river to the beach or to your resort if staying there. We didn't know when we turned up late..but in the end it's the most peaceful place I've stayed at and nicest beach. It's a secret place that will only get more popular so come before it does!

Punta Ballo Beach

Reviewed By deztreks35 - Manila, Philippines

Punta Ballo is in Sipalay and is right on the Sulu Sea, with a one-kilometre-long white sand beach, rugged limestone cliffs with great ocean views, and some of the most amazing sunsets you will ever see. There are a few foreign-owned Dive Resorts in this area that have comfortable accommodation, and great food with the beach being ideal from swimming and snorkelling and of course, scuba diving. Although there are a few foreign tourists around this area, it still remains very much “undiscovered” and really is one of the Philippines hidden gems. Hopefully, it will be a long time before people catch on and take away what makes this place so amazing.
