Believe me, having 2 young daughters I've tried a LOT of ice-cream but not as nice as Andrea's at Bar l'Angolo. Freshly made, smooth, creamy and so delicious. Great service with a good range of aperitivi, Great place to spend the summer nights sitting outside the bar in the main square watching the world go slowly by. Fantastic place.

Nick and his crew created an amazing experience for us and I highly recommend Ballooning in Tuscany to anyone looking for a balloon adventure. It was a first for us, and the team made us feel welcome and safe. They provided a most peaceful ride over beautiful Tuscany -- words don't do justice to the views, the feeling of freedom, the spiritual experience. We had the softest landing in a random field and celebrated with champagne and a buffet of delicious food, including a birthday cake for those celebrating milestone events. A gorgeous splendid soulful exhilarating way to start any day!

Montefollonico is a real secret of Tuscany, very typical for that area, but unknown. The cooking class is one of the most popular events in the village. The other are the great 4 restaurants nearby, one of them with Michelin Star. There is a small shop for tuscan typical products too, very cozy with nice handmade things too.

Fattoria Santa Vittoria

Reviewed By Douglas W - Aurora, Colorado

This is one of those places that are so good you hate to tell anyone for fear everybody else will flock there! But the place is so charming that it deserves a fantastic review. As an Ariturismo, you will stay in the building right in the middle of rows and rows of grape vines. The building is where, historically, the farm workers lived. The first story wing has been made into two, one bedroom suites. Each has a living/dining room with a sitting area with a couch, and a small, but fully functioning kitchen area, and a dining table. The kitchen is furnished with a two burner gas stove, a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, and a sink. There are sets of dishes, glassware, and cutlery. One could not hope for a better set up for self catering, or, you can pay a little extra fee per resident and a local woman will deliver breakfast at the time you desire. There is also a separate bedroom, with a Queen size bed, wardrobe, and an on-suite bathroom. Largest bathroom we encountered in Italy with a full size walk in shower! While the suites have been modernized, the Owners have used antique furniture to give the real feeling of a 19th century farmhouse. Just outside is a small table and chairs and a charcoal grill. There is a beautiful open area with overhanging trees for shade, lawn chairs, a large, lovely swimming pool, and a gorgeous fairytale like view over the Tuscan countryside. Extremely quiet and peaceful. Very centrally located to all the wonderful Medieval Hilltowns via very good secondary roads. Very close to Cortona, Lucignano, and Arrezzo. But the best part of our stay was talking with and getting help and suggestions from the owners Marta and Mauro. Among many other things, Marta runs the Agriturismo, and her husband Mauro runs the farm and winery. We booked a private tour of the winery with Mauro and beside seeing the very historical side of the winery with roots back to the Etruscans, we learned tons about the history of wine making in Tuscany, new uses for historic grape varieties, and the production of Vin Santo. Loved it! And the best for last. Both Marta and Mauro are accomplished and passionate cooks! We booked a private dinner for just us ( in the summer they do outside family style dinners under a grape arbor!). Mauro did both the cooking and serving. Each course was paired with a specific wine from their winery. First course was a fantastic Antpasto plate with four kinds of Bruschetta, Herb sautéed egg plant, and prosciutto. Second course (primi) was a locally popular pasta called "Picci" which is a sort of fat spaghetti, which Mauro hand rolled using wheat grown on the farm. Served with a Bolognaise sauce. The third course was a kind of meat and cheese "roll up" served in a bed of lettuce. Mauro called them something like "eggs in the nest". They were OMG good! Lastly he served us a home made sorbet. Folks, this was not only the best meal we had during our three weeks in Italy, but we both agreed that it might have been the best meal we have ever had! This place is very special. It is not the Ritz, or a luxury resort, it is truly a working farm with all the real experience and warmth that that entails. We would go back for a longer stay any time we can.

Museum of Lucignano

The town of Lucignano is very pleasant, easy enough to find parking, and a very picturesque mountain top town, with several restaurants.
The museum itself was very small, so €5 entrance seemed a bit much.
The main attraction in the four rooms being the "tree of life", a six foot gold statue which took 120 years to create.

Macelleria Ricci

Reviewed By Vicarmuddlebush

To call Macelleria Ricci a "butcher shop" would be like calling St. Peter's Basilica a "church." Truly, this is as good as it gets on several counts: the meat (treated like jewels and with a respect and reverence: these were animals, in many cases, that grazed freely in fields practically in sight of the shop), to the salame and prosciutti (home-made, in an impressive variety of flavors and formats, each possessing a special quality, density and texture, and presence on the plate and in one's mouth that suggests to what heights the craft of charcuterie may be taken); to the associated other food offerings (pasta, sauces, conserves, honey, oil, local wines, grappa, and even fruit juices, not to mention truly wonderful cheeses, that have been collected and curated in such a way as to make shopping elsewhere for anything but fresh vegetables superfluous); and to the staff, the really splendid staff (as knowledgeable, authoritative, helpful, pleasant and patient--in several languages--as they could possibly be). In short, Ricci has a grace and refinement and a selection of comestibles that takes shopping for meat to a most elevated level.

We had a small group of 8-10 people to tour the winery and then taste their wines. Winery is using lots of new technology to produce wonderful wines...We have toured hundreds of wineries around the world and have never seen fiber optics used to grade and separate the grapes. Very interesting! This was not only a very nice visit but they produce a number of excellent wines. Shipped some to our California Cellar...
