Visited during May 2019, During this time of year May, It is a Purple color treat for us. Rhododendrons are in full bloom during our visits, This Valley is definitely treat for our Eyes during season time of Mid April to May. Surrounded by Snow Capped Mountains, lovely river flow, yak ride along the river bed, Just Mesmerizing. Guys, after taking photos, just sit in the bench fixed along the river bed, forget about all, just enjoy the view and weather, Your worries will be vanished. Yak ride charges here are less than Changu lake. Must go place during season with Young Kids.

Dubdi Monastery

Reviewed By ramrex - Mumbai, India

The whole experience is great ... its a steep road to reach the monastery from its base thru thick woods and gives an amazing feeling. Walk slowly and take your time to appreciate the nature around you. You hear lot of birds chirping & calls and If you are lucky you get to see the wood owl. The monastery and its surrounding area is well maintained and there is a lama school near it. Its a good 2/3 hour out and relish nature.

Ranka Monastery

Reviewed By rpdjans - Chennai (Madras), India

IT is such a calm and serene place to visit. WE were the first to visit. We reached there on our return from gangtok in the morning by 9AM. It was such a sight to behold and have the monastery all for yourself Monks do stay there and there is such good view for mountains and breeze all around. A stretch of road to the monastery is not so good though that doesn't matter when you get such amazing views.

Tashiding Monastery

Reviewed By 478richs - Boston, United States

Tashi Ding is an active monastery in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. I recently visited to attend the cremation of my Tibetan master. The monastery was established in the 1600's. There are two holy caves visited by the master Guru Rinpoche located at the site. There is a stupa garden, two meditation halls, a prayer wheel house with an immense prayer wheel, as well as residences for the monks. On the walk up to the site is a little shop at which you can buy a traditional kata, or prayer shawl, to make an offering. Below the main site is one of the 8 great charnel grounds (burial sites) in the Buddhist tradition. The site is pretty high up and there is some steep walking, I recommend taking your time climbing the hill. Modest dress is most appropriate, generally long pants are best - not shorts.

Teesta River

Reviewed By Sonaliexplores - Mumbai, India

As we had travelled during rainy season the river was gushing with strong flow. On your way to Gangtok from Siliguri on National Highway 10, the first thing you will start enjoying is the beautiful company of Teesta River. You will get some great scenic views of the river on your way. There are few tourist spots where you can enjoy white river water rafting.

Ralong Monastery

Reviewed By SGRG069 - Gangtok, India

Ralang Monastery- One of the premium monastery in Sikkim belongs to the Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism.Though the one we visited is a new one which is in no doubt one of the most beautiful monastery in terms of architecture, wall Paintings etc. The drive through the beautiful countryside of Ralang Village is about 06 kms away from Ravangla town in South Sikkim. Our visit to this monastery was though not in our plan but while we were in Ravangla, we simply couldn't ignore this beautiful and important monastery so in this regard, we reached and there is nothing to regret as we could see one of the most beautiful wall paintings around...all well designed and marvelously touched and finished. While in South Sikkim, Ralang Monastery is a must visit place.
