We picked up a car at the airport and travelled west to Sigtuna, which was quite close by. We parked and walked into the old town. The main street was a quaint laneway with lovely shops and houses on either side. We walked down to the lakes edge and wandered along the footpath to the boardwalk and park more adjacent to the old town. We sat on some seats and enjoyed the Sunshine before heading on our way again. Lovely spot for a stop.

Sweden has this really bad tradition in calling all the medium and large buildings "castles"
It is just another mansion, privately owned, can only see it from outside and be careful where you walk because everything around the area are private properties.
I had to wait till 12:00 for the gates to the park to be open, even though the website said 11. Nobody showed up up to open the gates. I had to go ask somebody at the shop across the street, then finally someone came with a key. It was 15 minutes later.
Building is nice but there are better attractions better in the area. Skip this one! I drove from Uppsala to Stockholm and stopped by but that didnt justify my time wasted. Sorry..

It is a lovely castle, and quite close from the airport, so quite handy, if you have some time to kill before going to Arlanda. It also has a restaurant.

It is not the oldest church on the premises but it is the most functional though it is built in the 1700th century. Go inside and hsve a look and then move on to the ruins of the old church 50 metres away

Made a stop here to see this historical structure and to visit church ruins and an old church. Not much to see at this "smallest city hall". Spend time instead at the church and the walking path around the town.
