Highly recommended!!! We spent a week on Lake Baikal carefully guided by Nadezhda. We visited Irkutsk, then we moved together to Listvyanka for one night, then to Olkhon for three days, and finally came back to Irkutsk. Nadya was doing her best during this period making all our wishes come true, giving useful and practical tips for our spare time and dealing with all organizational problems. So she is a wonderful guide: intelligent, talkative, well-awared, humorous, extremely responsive and resbonsible with her guests, and her sense of proportion and tact is amazing. The region is now on its way to providing good services for travelers and Nadezhda is the best role model for those who learn how to manage this process. Thank you for this unforgettable trip, dear Nadyusha!

Lake Baikal in winter is a magical place. The lake freezes and the ice turns transperant and blue. You can look right through at beautiful hammock formations and bubbles forming beautiful patterns just under the ice. There is so much to do in this Sibetian region. The frozen lake gives access to the caves and overhangs on the mountains that are covered with breathtaking ice formations. The quaint villages on the shores of Baikal and in Olkhon island gives one a glimpse of this remote cold region and its very warm people. Driving on ice is a totally exciting and thrilling experience. The special thing about this winter region is its weather. Although the tempreture is subzero all the time, because of its dryness and lack of wind one doesn't feel very cold and if adequately dressed, very comfortable. Dog sleighing on ice was another happy experience that we had. My husband and I took this 7 day tour with Baikal Sun Tours. Right from the enquiry stage to the booking they were prompt and hospitable. Anastasia answered all our questions, provided everything and more than we asked for. They hlped us shop for warm clothes, cancelled our flight tickets although they hadn't booked it, helped us check in with our flights, provided ice walking equipment and even scouted for gifts for us and even provided us with local sim cards for our phones. Galina and Andrew not only dropped us at the Airport but stayed with us until we checked in. Slav our English speaking guide and Andrew who made all the arrangements were superb. They answered all our questions (and we had plenty), prepared fantastic meals on the lake, helped me walk on ice at all times, took us to the best spot on the lake and gave us an amazing experience. The hotels/ guesthouses were at the best spots and very comfortable. All the drivers of the vehicles were careful and good. Driving on the lake is risky and is the job of the experts. The meals were sumptuous and tasty. Andrew periodically provided us with his delicious homemade berry liquor that also helped in keeping us warm. Anastasia, answered all our queries on whatsapp very promptly at all times. I would strongly recommend Lake Baikal in winter experience to everyone and to take this tour with Baikal Sun Tours as they are outstanding.

Tunka Valley is called the land of Geser, Buryat (local people's hero), who fought against The Evil Khan, attacking the peaceful land. The guests like this area for untouched beauty of eternal snowy-peaked Siberian Alps mountains, green meadows, curing hot springs and tasty local cuisine. This is the place, where locals continue to live their cattle breeding lifestyle, some of them have yurts (gers), and if you stay for another day and go to the most remote areas at the border with Mongolia, you will see locals living the lives of their ancestors. Here a lot of local ethnic festivals are held, including ethnic dance, wrestling, horse riding and breaking the bones of animals contests.

We were in Irkutsk and wanted to make a one day tour on Olkhon. In the tourist info we were given the contact from Tanya. The organization was very uncomplicated, we told her what we wanted and she organized this in a short time. The driver was very friendly and funny, even if he did not speak English we got along very well with facial expressions and gestures. He showed us the most beautiful places and let us discover some of them by ourselves, he also cooked us a delicious traditional fish soup. We liked the tour very much and we were glad that something could be organized for us at such short notice and without complications.
