Shakopee (/ˈʃɑːkəpiː/ SHAH-kə-pee) is a city in and the county seat of Scott County, Minnesota. It is located southwest of downtown Minneapolis. Sited on the south bank bend of the Minnesota River, Shakopee and nearby suburbs comprise the southwest portion of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, the sixteenth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, with 3.3 million people. The population of Shakopee was 37,076 at the 2010 census.

The Landscape Arboretum has winter Christmas lights all over the grounds. Light display by the children's area with sleigh and windmill. Around back is more lights and music, and inside is the Poinsetta tree about 15 ft tall !!

Nice place to host a wedding with lots of interesting picture places and distractions for the kids. Really good food--- though I'd recommend two buffet tables to get things moving!!

My girlfriend and I went to Valleyscare this year and had a lot of fun! There were multiple outdoor "scare zones" and indoor haunted houses. Everything had a different theme and there were a lot of cool special effects / decorations. In the slaughterhouse themed haunted house, there was a Plexiglas floor with a monster scaring people from below. Then, in others, they had obstacles you had to squeeze through, lasers that made it impossible to see what was behind beneath the light, and people well hidden in ghillie suits. Also, as you walked through the park to the various haunted houses, their major roller coasters were up and running: Steal Venom, Wild Thing, Extreme Swing, Power Tower, etc. Some restaurants and food places were open too, but we found out that the menus are limited because of the "off season" so we were told. Then, unfortunately, on the night we went, it was down pouring and lightening. So, they had to close down the rides for awhile and some of the outdoor Halloween attractions. They still kept the indoor haunted houses open, but the majority of the park closed down. We waited around for awhile and a few things opened back up, but the mazes and outdoor zones stayed closed. It was kind of a bumper, because we only got to do about half of the activities, but it was still fun. It should be noted that you can purchase a no-scare necklace for children to wear. And, the monsters can't touch you, necklace or no necklace. Overall, it isn't very scary, but they put a lot of effort into their decorations and the monsters made it fun to go through the haunted houses. On non-stormy days, there is definitely a lot more open and many Halloween activities to do.

We have been going since 1973. It might be personal preference but there are some plays that are better than others. But the Acting is 100% entertaining! Every show the actors interact with the audiences. The closer you sit to center stage the more of a chance you'll be part of the show. Four stars is for the food. It's always a good idea to ask the server what he or she might recommend. Our Chicken was over cooked but the steaks and fish were spot on. The can beer was out dated. Water glasses never go dry.
Sister Act production was amazing. The play is a rewrite from the original movie but the story line was the same with different songs.
Photo and video is a mortal sin but asked before the show if your guest is evolved in the show if you can take picture of your friend/family member.

Came here for their New Years Eve party and could only stay for 30 mins before we couldn't take it anymore. Not sure what kind of ventilation system they have in there, if any at all, but smoke permeated the entire facility. Even the "non-smoking" areas were filled with smoke, just that no one was actively smoking in those areas. But you know, the smoke doesn't really care about those distinctions. Our clothes were getting infused with smoke as was my girlfriends hair. We left after our first drink and found a better place to celebrate.
The entertainment looked pretty good, but we weren't around long enough to really enjoy it. May come back if and when they ever upgrade their systems.

It was a Christmas present to my friend (and also me). Such an amazing experience! I don't remember our tour guides name but she was 100% on point and gave us time to reflect on everything she told us and all of the exhibits. Truly incredible experience!

Tucked in an industrial park across from Valley Fair is Badger Hill Brewing. The nondescript entrance hides some great brews, and a family and dog friendly tap room. I started with a flight of 4 for $9 and was debating trying a few more or a pint and settled on another flight. They make some great IPAs along with other good options. Great Minnesotan taproom!

Have a family outing at a wonderful baseball field at a great price. The facility is fantastic and the baseball is even more enjoyable

Lots to do besides corn!
Two corn pits, pig races(Lindsay LoHAM won the race), camel rides, live band, pumpkin canon, petting zoo, cut outs for photo ops, large slide , corn maze and finally lots of food and drink.
Most of these features are ala carte items. The corn pits, pig races, live band, petting zoo( minus the feed), corn maze and cutouts are with the price of admission. The rest come with a price.
A good afternoon of fun but its not cheap if you want to do it all.
