Seremban (Jawi: سرمبن; Chinese: 芙蓉; pinyin: Fù Rong; Jyutping: fu4 jung4; Tamil: சரம்பன் ; Minangkabau: Soghomban or Somban) is a town and the capital of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, located within Seremban District. The town's administration is run by the Seremban Municipal Council. On 9 September 2009, Seremban was to be declared as a city, but it was later deferred due to technical reasons. However, the idea of granting city status has been brought up again and Seremban is expected to become a city in 2019.

All the following is history. The building and grounds are an incredible experience. Be sure to go up the outdoor steps (for those without ambulation issues) and enjoy the Gardens where Mary and Elizabeth once strolled. This was one of the most serene and peaceful sites I experienced in Jerusalem. It is an active church, so decorum and respect of worshipers at prayer is expected.
Church of the Visitation in Jerusalem’s Ein Karem district is the site where the newly pregnant mother of Jesus met with her cousin Elizabeth, the pregnant mother of John the Baptist (Luke 1:39–56: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb”). Tradition has it that Mary recited her song of praise, the Magnificat (Latin for “my soul magnifies the Lord”, aka the Song of Mary). John is believed to be six months older than Jesus. (One accompanying photo depicts one statue more “pregnant” than the other.)
Tradition attributes the first church was constructed for Helena of Constantinople [Istanbul], who identified this site as the home of Zachary, John’s father, and where Elizabeth and her infant son hid from Herod’s soldiers. The church was inaccessible to Christian pilgrims in the Muslim siege of Jerusalem in 638AD. Crusaders in the 11th century erected a 2-story church on the ancient ruins found here, but by 1480 Armenian monks report only uninhabitable ruins. Franciscans purchased the property in 1679 but did little to the ruins, believing it to be sacrilege to alter the historic religious site. The grounds were excavated in 1937 (when Hitler had seized control of German, and the year before Kristallnacht, “Night of Broken Glass,” when Nazis broke windows of businesses owned by Jews). The Franciscans began construction on the present edifice incorporating all extant Byzantine and Crusader remains as part of the new shrine.

A great half-day walk, combining some views from the peak with cascades and river crossings. I’d definitely recommend the Ulu Bendul route, or going up one way and back the other for variety.
It’s about an hour from my KL to Seremban, about 60km to the south, and then another 20min drive to the start of one of the trail. We took the Bukit Putus route up, which is the shorter and more direct route, starting at an altitude of 285m.
The descent we are taking is the longer Ulu Bendul trail. It’s narrower and seems less trafficked than the Bukit Putus route we took up (although other trip reports suggest this longer route is more popular) – and descends even more steeply. In a number of places there are sections of rope in place to help descend the slippery track. There's a number of very picturesque cascades and swimming holes once you reach the valley.
It's about 4km via Bukit Putus and 7km via Ulu Bendul route (+3km if you're walking along the highway to connect the two trails - best to have two vehicles if possible).

Entrance to this temple is free. Not a very big temple but good place to discover & visit in Seremban with lots of photo opportunities of the Laughing Buddha, statues, beautiful huge koi fishes and overview of the town. It's possible to drive directly to the temple as there are parking spaces onsite but be warned it's a rather uphill drive which can be daunting when you look up from the bottom of the hill. An option is to park at the foot of the hill, and have a short walk.

It is one of the newer Malls in Seremban town with a good array of Branded merchandise Boutiques and food outlets. The Mall has basement parking which is limited but the parking lots on the upper floors are quite sufficient. They also have an open air parking next to a restaurant on the rooftop. However,parking during weekends can be challenging.

It is highest mountain at State of Negeri Sembilan, at Penisular Malaysia, with 1461m high.It consist slope hill forest , slope forest top , and Montane forest. Actually it is part of Malaysia Titiwangsa Range.
Route:
1. Start from parking area(with Hutan Lipur Gunung Besara Hantu) , need to walk to starting point, timber trak at 310m, steep route. if possible, ask 4 wheel driver to sent to starting point, one small junction after 20 minits drive from parking area. Paid RM 5 per person at guide hut.(start 2012, every hike at Negeri Sembilan need permit for RM 5, include Mt Angsi, Mt Datuk, Mt Besar Hantu etc.)
2. After walking the trek for i hours 30 minits, reach one small junction, with stream at your right hand side(walking distance 5 minits ), start enter jungle area. it is at 575m high. take water here.
3. Jungle trail is clear, keep in walking at quite flat trail, reach one Camp Orchid at 935m high, after 2 hours walking. last water point of this mountain is 20 minits walk after the campsite, 955m.
4. after last waterpoint, the trek become very steep. 1hr 30 m hiking, will reach peak, 1492m.
how to go:
1. Take Seremban exit of PLUS Highway, than turn to right hand side, shoot to Mantin, a small town on the Seremban-Kuala Lumpur federal route.
2. From Mantin, follow signboard, to Kuala Kelawang, than to Titi, view is scenic as you cross over part of Titiwangsa Range.
3. From Titi, go to Kampung Chennah (Chennah Vollage), can see Gunung Besar Hantu signboard in coklat colour.follow the signboard.than to Kampung Tohor. from Kg Tohor find 4 wheel to GBH, RM 350 tw0 ways.
Titi---Kg Chennah: 18km
Kg Chennah---Kg Tohor: 10km
Kg Tohor--GBH: 1 hr 05 minits.(4 wheel)
3.Descent: take same route, than follow the other junction to Waterfalls. Beware of steps, it is steep.
suggestion: camping at peak, but must carry camping gear and water, but can see the awesome sunrise, at the peak of GBH, clearly can see Genting Highlad, Mt Rajah, and also see KL city night light clearly. almost the best view point at Penisular mountain, with not very tough trails.
OR , day hike with light pack, but can't enjoy the scenary.
**make sure bring firecraker--we heard clear TIGER roaring during our hike there. and 4 wheels driver told that it is quite normal.
tips: not very tough hike if compare with or to others mountain, like G7 at Penisular, but make sure wear proper hiking shoes, bring enough waters.

Situated just opposite the Negeri Sembilan State Museum. Do you know we had local made chocs in Seremban? I didn't. We had a taste too when we visited the place. Lovely. They have assorted chocolates and dark ones which are my favorite. They also do for functions and events. Beautiful packaging too. Worth a visit.

An errand took us to Seremban recently. We decided to play tourist while being there. One of the places that we visited was The Sandalwood.
The owner, Austin, enlightened us on sandalwood per se and not just on its use as a medium for incense sticks and coils, amidst continuously refilling our cups of tea. We spent a leisurely hour there while we discussed (rather academically, I must say, just how I like my cup of tea) other aromatic woods, how the various objets d'art for sale were crafted (some even in a work room at the back), the nature of the business, his supply chain, etc. Austin is very knowledgeable and entrepreneurial. After all, he is the third generation in the business, bringing modernity to a traditional craft.
Up to the time we left, there was not a single sales pitch. Nonetheless, being Chinese, we would always have use for incense sticks, so we bought a small bundle. My brother could not resist getting himself a sandalwood coaster. All the way home to Melaka, we could smell sandalwood in our car. It could have been due to the incense sticks and coaster on the back seat.
But I suspect it was because our clothes had been infused with the sandalwood fragrance emitted from the electronic essential oil burner in Austin's showroom. Sandalwood is known for its calming and relaxing effect. That would definitely explain why our visit to The Sandalwood had been such a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of our lives.

Cattown is a cat cafe,located at Seremban Two. There are about 15 cats. Very, clean and spacious. The cats are well groomed. Whilst the bigger cats are approachable, the kittens are playful. The cafe serves drinks and the delicious waffles are a must try. I've visited cat cafes elsewhere in the world, but this Is the best thus far. Cost only MYR 10 per adult.

This royal museum is located in Seremban's Lake Gardens. The museum showcases Tuanku Ja'afar's 42 year reign as Sultan of Negeri Sembilan. The exhibits are tastefully presented with descriptions in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Informative and worth a visit if in the area.
