Bukit Broga Hill

Reviewed By csChai - Malaysia, null

My better half and I together with our friends hiked up this popular Broga Hill last week. It is located in the town of Broga near Semenyih in Selangor, about 40 km from KL Sentral or 15 km from Kajang town. It is 400 meter high and the trail is suitable for casual hikers and weekend exercise enthusiasts. It is very clear and we can just follow the well-trodden and much-used trail all the way to the peak of the hill. However, the trail may be slippery if it had rained earlier. And do bring along a torch light if you are starting your hike in the early morning to catch the glorious sunrise view from the peak. If you are hiking in the late morning or afternoon, an umbrella would be helpful (unless you are looking for a suntan) as most part of the trail is not covered by trees. It is open and exposed. It would take about an hour to get to the peak from the car park for an average hiker. As one enters the car park in the oil palm estate, a parking fee based on the number of occupants in the vehicle is collected, RM1.00 per person. To use the toilets, another RM1.00 is collected. After a short distance of hiking from the car park, another RM1.00 per person is collected by a different operator, presumably for passing through his property to get to the peak of the hill. There are 3 stations or viewing points along the trail up to the peak. The 1st station is at 268 meters (880 ft) above sea level and the 2nd station is at 350 meters (1150 ft) and the 3rd and final station is at the peak of the hill, 400 meters (1312 ft). The view from each of the stations is very beautiful. It offers an unobstructed view of the surrounding areas. They are great places to take nice photos. This hill can be crowded on weekends and during public holidays. It is a good place not too far from the city centre to break a sweat, take in some fresh air, enjoy the natural environment, get some suntan and away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Go enjoy the hike!
