Devil's Head Fire Lookout

Fantasitc hike.

Recommend you arrive before 8:30am on a weekend. We got there at 8am straight up and were one of the first there which made for a great hike with our Lab. Pack in pack out, no trash cans, so be aware for pet clean up and trash. Last 10 miles of drive to trailhead is dirt road which is just bumpy and slow but passable by any vehicle most likely.

The obvious recommendation. Wear good shoes and bring appropriate water. Billy the ranger is fantastic and very impressive individual as a whole. Steps to the lookout can be a bit challenging for pets or those that fear heights as our lab made it 80% of the way up before saying "nope" to the last 2 flights of stairs so had to take her back down. Family went up and loved it very cool to do.

On the way back down, the trail was packed and there was zero parking when we left and that was at about 11am.

Well worth the trip

Daniel’s Gate Park

Reviewed By Robert S - Westborough MA

Located just south of Littleton, a southern suburb of the Denver area is amazing to drive up and see Bison roaming. They were right next to the fencing allowing us an up close view. The park is on a high mesa so the views from Pikes Peak to Mt Evans to Longs Peak are amazing, and if its in the morning the sky is usually cloudless. There are some trails and bike paths but they run along a fence line to keep you separate from the animals and they parallel the roadway, not as much fun but hey, there are buffalo's!

Great fun at any age. Our Saturday morning session was extra special as the Air Force Academy  cadets were the before us, practicing for their first parachute dive. It gave us a sense that the experience would be pretty close to an actual sky dive. The instructors do all the hard work. A just do what they tell you and enjoy the ride. Definitely pay the $10 for the High Fly experience!  I was almost too afraid to try it, but so happy I did. We got a copy of the video and impressed all our friends, even though it was a piece of cake.

Roxborough State Park

Whenever we have visitors we take them to Roxborough Park. What a beautiful site to see! Bring your cameras for some magnificent photo ops! There is also a nice gift shop on site as well as a little cafe for a light breakfast or lunch. The beautiful red rock formations jutting out are just as nice as Red Rocks and much easier to visit w/o all the walking or hiking. Handicap access is also possible.

Cherokee Ranch and Castle

Reviewed By HJHPLittleton - Littleton

Visiting Cherokee Ranch and Castle is a timeless trek into a wee bit of the Scottish Highlands -- right here in our own backyard! It rises above the plains just south of Highlands Ranch and offers a breath-taking vista of the front range. It was built in the 1920's and features detailed craftsmanship found in the castles of Scotland and Europe. It was bought by the Kimball's (a family from Tennessee) in the 1950's, and was occupied by them, and then by "Tweet" Kimball up until the early 1970's. It is overseen by a Foundation now and is open to the public as an event center and for special tours throughout the year. They offer a delightful formal Tea at Christmas time -- where very knowledgeable docents take guests on a guided tour. Many native Coloradans have never visited -- or even know it's there! It is worth a visit. Make a reservation. Take an afternoon drive and visit this enduring landmark at our own backdoor!

Was looking for a nice day spa to enjoy a mother daughter day. We wanted more than just the walk in and get your massage kind of place. The Woodhouse Spa did not disappoint! My daughter had the deep tissue massage and I had the hot stone massage and both were great. The staff is friendly and attentive and atmosphere is lovely. They have nice changing facilities, lockers and a cozy waiting area. The robes, slippers and a complimentary drink (water, tea, wine or champagne) were very nice touches! Yes, it is more expensive than the walk in places, but you get what you pay for. Can't wait to return!

If going to Denver to shop, the Park Meadows Mall is a great place to go! Many clothes, jewelry and shoe stores for everyone! Several department stores too! The food court is very rustic and cabin feeling with a large stone fireplace in the middle! Many wonderful fast food places to eat while you sit by the fireplace! A lot of parking available! I would recommend this mall to everyone!

This place always has a wide selection of tasty brews to suit every palate. Rotating food trucks are always a good option at just about every micro brewery in the metro area. Nice outdoor patio & fun atmosphere. As mentioned in previous reviews here, watch out for dog hair ending up where it shouldn't be. Note to dog owners, not everyone likes to smell ur dog.
