Schooner Freda B

The Schooner Freda B sails out of historic downtown Sausalito, CA. This beautiful 80 foot schooner hosts a myriad of public sails; local history, Giants Games in McCovey Cove, ecological, sunset and city lights sails, to name just a few. The Schooner Freda B offers a local beers and wines bar. We are also well regarded for epicurean private sails, like our lobster feed on Angel Island, Giants Games in McCovey Cove, wine club tastings and corporate team building on the magnificent San Francisco Bay. San Francisco departures available.

Which I am one. I tour Coastal Artillery forts/batteries whenever I travel. This is a must. The view of the ocean is wonderful. The entire Marin Headlands area with Fort Baker, Fort Cronkite, Fort Barry etc is fantastic for the outdoors hiker and military history buff.

Vista Point

This was one of the drop off locations on the Big Bus Hop on Hop off bus tour. The North Vista Point was absolutely a great place to view the beautiful Art Deco Bridge and the San Francisco skyline as well as the Bay where you can see Alcatraz and Yerba Buena Island/Treasure Island. There are WCs at this location which is very handy. From the Vista Point, there a hiking trails to see various former military batteries that guarded the Golden Gate during more perilous times.

This is a fantastic place picture perfect, you can hire a bike and ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately the fog was really bad the day we were going to ride over you wouldn’t have known you were on the bridge. We ended up taking the ferry both ways , Result. there are restaurants along the seafront and a park area if you bring a picnic. Bring sunscreen as it tends to get very hot and not much of a breeze.

sausalito Home Boats

Reviewed By Hermes_NL - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

A must see in Sausalito is the quite extensive and dare I say unique collection of floating house boats, moored on a number of piers. Some piers are accessible to the public, others are only for residents. There is a substantial variety in the houses, some are real pieces of art!
