I have heard about Shakespear on the Saskatchewan for years but have never seem to gone, until July 2019. I finally pulled the trigger on this and a combo with the Prairie Lily. I must say this is a first class act of live play/theatre. The actors were great, engaging and top notch. I saw A Comedy of Errors. It was great. I have to make this a more regular activity. So worth it.

The Bassment

The Bassment is a great live jazz and roots music venue in the heart of downtown Saskatoon. Every weekend begins with no cover Piano Friday - live piano, friends, food, and fun. Piano Fridays run from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. As for our shows, there are about two to four every week, sometimes up to six! We provide the best live music experience: great acoustics, atmosphere, drinks, and food. For each event, the doors are open 1 hour prior to the show (Fridays being an exception: then, they are open at 4:30 pm because of Piano Fridays). The Bassment is an all ages venue.

We recently attended the Neil Currie evening featuring Billy Joel songs. As always, it was a great evening. Neil had a head cold, which affected his voice, but he still did a great job and brother Grant filled in nicely at the end when Neil’s voice gave out. The Bassment offers a cosy atmosphere, with good food and drinks. We have always found the service to be good, and our waitress on Saturday was no exception. It is a great gem for our city.

The Barn Playhouse

Reviewed By sfehr2018 - Saskatoon, Canada

This is a beautiful place to visit with a rustic atmosphere. The theatre is placed inside a beautiful barn filled with antiques. The plays are well done and very enjoyable. They have several different vendors onsite providing different dinner option with great food. They also do dinner theatres during the fall and winter months. I have also been there for company Christmas banquets and family weddings. They did not disappoint. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Barn Playhouse.
