Kalamitsi beach

Worth Visiting!

Reviewed By Nikola I - Hungary

We stayed in Sarti but it was near so we visited this place and it was surprisingly good;
Only thing that was an issue was the parking, it has not much capacity;
Not spectacular but a nice beach, the village it self doesn't offer much but it`s charming;

Good tavernas on the beach. Affordable and clean. Nothing more than to sleep, relax and eat Greek food. Many families, still no big supermarkets around. Best of all are the sun beds (free) all over the beach and many bar Beaches in the south

Kavourotrypes (Orange Beach)

Very Live And Popular Beach!

Reviewed By Dragos S - Bucharest, Romania

We drove 30 minutes to reach the place, expecting to see unspoiled nature at its best. I hardly waited to relax with the vibrant colors that the sun gives to the water, the sand and the pines. Unfortunately my experience was half as good as expected.
The water is turquoise, indeed, particularly depending on weather. On the other hand the beach was crowded and managed badly. Sunbeds and sunchairs fill most of the beach, and it's not relaxing to sit there. The people who run the place are very arrogant, and the frappucino they serve is below average. On (some of) the paths down the hill it smells bad, no need to go into details.
The beach is good for people who have no other options nearby. Otherwise it's worth taking a few pictures of Mount Athos, and that should be it. It would actually give a better time to those staying in the neighbourhood.

Platanitsi Beach

This is a nice beach in another shade of turquoise water. We liked the beach but the access to the beach seems to lead through a camping and we were not really sure if we would've actually been allowed to be there by car. Sadly, it was windy that day and it blew all the sand in our faces, so we moved on to the Orange beach which is better shielded. I think in high-season the access to the beach by car ia not possible but not sure about that. Because of the wind we didn't even indulge in a swim.

Goa Beach

Reviewed By Eugen B - Constanta, Romania

After Tigania Beach this is the second best snorkeling place in Sithonia (discovered by me). The problem with Goa beach, as well as with Tigania beach, is that they are exposed to de east and south-east winds blowing almost daily from the Athos Mountain.
One year ago (September 2015) for ten days we tried without success to catch a day without waves on Goa beach. This year (August 2016) we were lucky enough to have a calm sea in our first day of holiday in Sarti. So we went directly to Goa beach to check if there are waves crashing on the Goa beach left side water emerging rocks. The sea was flat so we go directly for about two hours of snorkeling on the left side of the beach going round the rocky shelf rising from the water.
The water was crystal clear with 20-25 m visibility and there is a combination of shallow and deep water with high solid rocks on a sand bottom. The sea life is not very abundant but the underwater landscape is great.
Another great advantage of this beach is that it is not crowded mainly due to the dirt road which does not look very encouraging in the beginning for small cars. There is also a large enough parking area and the sunbeds and umbrellas are theoretically free (you have to order a set of drinks from the bar).
