Even if you’ve never been to this Cyclades island in the Aegean Sea, you’d still recognize it immediately – candy-colored houses carved into cliffs, sapphire waters, gleaming white buildings topped with half-spheres the color of a stormy sky. Here you’ll find peace as you roam the black sand beaches or the streets of a provincial village like Imerovigli. Beautiful Oia is world famous for its sunsets, which seem tinted with every shade of an artist’s palette.

Located on the main square of Oia, this church with spotless white walls, blue some and a bell tower with six bells is an iconic image of Santorini. The inside of the church is also beautiful. A mass was on when we went in and it was such a peaceful atmosphere inside.

Stop by and take a nice photo of the area and surrounding area. An easy walk from the port / cable car area.

Lovely location with great views, old carob tree and lots of content looking strays lounging around. Lots to see of interest here, inside and out. Old stone engraved animal watering trough outside, inside is crammed full of frescoes, paintings and trinkets and the light coming through the stained glass window is stunning. There is so much detail here in a very small space, we were lucky in that we were the only ones at the time so we could have a really good slow look at everything. We had to ask where to leave a donation as there is no visible donation pot/box here. They should really put something up for tourists to leave a donation for the continued preservation and upkeep of this delightful church. Well worth a detour to see this interesting and beautiful church.

Beautiful. The main church of the city. It's very big inside and outside as well. Admission is free, although a small donation will always be appreciated.
