What to do and see in Sant Martí, Catalonia: The Best Bars & Clubs

April 6, 2022 Agatha Simes

Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Bar Bodega J. Cala

The place is hidden in St Marti neighbourhood, small bar with wide variety of wines but the top seller product is "vermut" with anchoes from La Escala. Just delicious! They also have other tapas. The staff is really friendly and it's always full of people.

Established in 1996. We've been doing KARAOKE highest quality since 1996, with a repertoire that now reaches the 130,000 songs in 16 different languages, and we continue to expand. A very neat room acoustic level, with spectacular scenery and lights to get our artist clients feel whenever you go to sing. Definitely one of the emblematic and historical premises of our city in regards to Karaoke!

I absolutely loved my night out at Touch Karaoke bar whilst on holiday in Barcelona. After attempting the nearby clubs with no English songs playing we couldn’t have ended up in a better place. An amazing, lively and supportive atmosphere for the singers - was a good laugh. The cocktails, although pricey were great and served with some crisps. I even got up and sung a few songs myself, if I ever find myself back in Barcelona, I know I will be returning.

Madame George Lounge Bar

Madame George is a jewel of a bar in the heart of the Poblenou area of Barcelona. It is ranked no. 2 in the TimeOut Top 10 list of Barcelona bars with history. Lonely Planet says of Madame George "A theatrical (veering towards campy) elegance marks the interior of this small, chandelier-lit lounge just off the Rambla del Poblenou. Deft bartenders stir up nicely balanced cocktails to a friendly, eclectic crowd, while off in the corner a DJ spins vintage soul and funk (bonus points for using vinyl)." Enjoy the finest drinks and cocktails in a cosmopolitan atmosphere illuminated by those acclaimed crystal chandeliers. The stylish bar interior is the work of the celebrated local designer Daniel Spinella. Rums, Classic cocktails and Sours are our specialities but we can also recommend some excellent signature cocktails if you want to try something new. Famous in Poblenou for DJ nights and occasional Drag Shows, at the weekends the place buzzes late into the night with a diverse clientele of locals, international residents and visitors. During the week Madame George is the perfect location for conversation and relaxation. Our salon, 'The Snug', can be reserved for groups of up to 15 people and we have also hosted weddings and larger parties. Say hello to Madame George!
