Banning State Park

Hikers through this State Park have a choice of many scenic trails, which wind through birch and pine forests bordering along the turbulent waters of the Kettle River.

We have visited 35 state parks and decided this is one of our favorites. It was a perfect day weather wise so that made for a perfect hike. We did go on a Saturday so be aware there were ALOT of cars and it is a small parking lot. The terrain is beautiful. We took quarry loop trail to high bluffs trail to the wolf creek falls. Round trip it’s 5.5 miles. On the way back you will see the ruins of 130 year old sandstone quarry. We felt they had great signage during the hike also. It was a little confusing down by the falls but it was so pretty we figured it out. Definitely will come back on a nice day.
