August 30, 2021 Sachiko Swiger

Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

We kept being surprised when we'd finish a puzzle and another wall would fall down and a new room would open up. Most rooms seem to have 2 rooms--I think there were something around four here! Puzzles were not over the top challenge-wise and while I think there may have been one element that wasn't quite working our guide stopped by and either fixed it for us or forced it into the next stage. Details were amazing, everything felt well designed, the room definitely encouraged teamwork and there was a nice mix of mental and physical puzzles--would definitely recommend! Even if it is pricier than the typical escape room, it sets a very high standard. We also made it through several sets of almost fake endings--suspect most groups will be able to escape in the nick of time :D

- Purchased a Groupon (great deal) - Easily reserved date online for 6 20something year olds - Knowledgeable, funny host (Joseph) - You can communicate with the host for time checks and 3 hints via walkie talkie - Fun puzzles! Challenging but not impossible! - Would love to come back and try the other rooms...note that there's nothing fancy/electronic-y about the Prison Room (I mean it is a Prison after all) - Highly recommend!

We came here as a team building event for work, and we split ourselves into two groups doing two different escape rooms. My group was assigned the Space Bus, and the other group was assigned to the Blind Tiger Bar. We walked to the Space Bus, which was a converted school bus parked about a block away. The actual room is quite immersive, as they tried to make inside of the bus to look like a spaceship. Plenty of sounds and lighting to make the environment more captivating. Unlike other escape rooms, the game master, Android Ron, was in the room with us, and he was a great host! He was in character, provided timely status updates, and when asked, provided enough hints to push us along. He gave a great overview in the end about all the puzzles and different thing he had noticed. Overall, the experience was awesome! A side note: bring a jacket, as it can get chilly inside the bus.
