Brought our 3 year old and 6.5 year old grandchildren. They and most other kids applied the 8 second rule - play on one structure for 8 seconds - see another and run there. 8 seonds , etc. but constantly playing all the activities. Even picnic tables if you want to bring a lunch or supper.

Its been great watching this brewery grow! Always experimenting! Great flagship brews. My favourite is the Dead Elephant and when released the Double Dead Elephant. Iron Spike is also a good beer to have. Railway City is one of my go to Breweries. There is always a Dead Elephant in the beer fridge!

Probably not too many people realize that the word ‘jumbo’ was popularized as the name of this famous elephant. So, it would certainly be a mistake not to visit this massive monument of Jumbo, who was struck by a locomotive in 1885 not far from this location.

Canada Southern Railway Station

At one point train stations were the heart of the town, probably more relevant than airports today. The city of St. Thomas was a very important railway hub and this station was one of the busiest in Canada. Nowadays the station is almost abandoned. I hope it will be preserved for posterity.

We enjoyed our tour of this museum. It has many artifacts covering various periods in time. Our tour guide entertained questions and provided valuable insight into the exhibits. The museum is close to the Jumbo monument and you will be told about its creation along with the Jumbo story. This place is a gem and we'll worth the time to visit.

Be sure to get the guided tour. You will learn many things about the church, and the Loyalist history of the area. For example, note the Masonic influence on the stained glass windows. Also, ask about the directory for the gravestones that go WAY back. An historical, architectural, and cultural gem.
