We visited the American Cemetery and Monument in May, 2019. We were there just a few days before the 75th D-Day Anniversary celebrations. The grounds were immaculate and beautiful. Obviously, it's almost exactly like Arlington in Virginia, but the fact that you're on the beach, so close to where so many of the men in those graves died, just makes a bigger impact, somehow. They play Taps and the National Anthem every hour, and each time the songs were played, it brought tears to our eyes. We forget the sacrifices of these men, and this place just does a great job of bringing all that into focus so you truly can appreciate the Greatest Generation.

I am so happy I took time from our holiday to visit Omaha Beach, its so much more stunning and impressive in person, the sea views are stunning, the cliffs, the nearby quaint town, the art and sculptures, this is one special and unique place in the earth I would suggest all take time to visit.

This museum provides an excellent introduction to the D-Day invasion before you visit Omaha beach itself (5 minutes away). It is packed full of artifacts from that period and the military operations. The museum focuses on the US contribution to the invasion in Normandy and the landing at Omaha beach where ~2000 US soldiers died the first day (June 6, 1944). Some other reviews here complain about that. But the fact is, this is a Omaha beach museum and Omaha beach was a US sector. It is not a memorial to the overall battle of Normandy. You can see that elsewhere (such as the memorial in Caen). Entry is 7 euro per adult. Highly recommended.

An interesting conducted tour of the farm's cider and calvados production with a well-informed English speaking guide (be there for 2.30). The reasonable price included tasting of apple juice, cider and calvados of different ages. A wide selection of drinks etc available in the farm shop.

You can see it from the parking lot...it was nice to just sit and look at it, see the beach, the flags flying...I can't even imagine what that day was like back during the war...so humbling and so blessed to be able to visit - the American Cemetery and Omaha Beach Museum and gift shop are nearby (within 10 minutes)...when we left we drove along the beach on the way out, beautiful views...We visited on the 75th Anniversary...it was a bucket list checkoff and I'm so glad it worked out this year...

Great place and interesting piece of history. We got a lot of information about history. My children dont speak Englisch, but they like this place, full of interesting equipment.
