Lovegrove Gallery & Gardens

Lovegrove Gallery & Gardens is the international headquarters for Florida artist, Leoma Lovegrove and one of the most colorful destinations in the sunshine state. The gallery showcases Lovegrove's original art and it is here where you can step into her techinicolor world of tropical artistic flair and experience the authentic island style life of an artist. Paint your own Florida souviner in her world famous botanical waterfront gardens (Paint and brushes included). Or paint your very own coconut postcard to keep or mail back home (no box needed- mails as is). You can also paint your own painting in the garden with the help of Vino's Picasso (Seasonal Nov-April). You can also enjoy homemade ( "Love Boat Ice Cream")ice-cream right out of a real coconut shell and guess what? You can keep the shell and take it back home to remind you of the happy memories you made while visiting one of Florida's most popular historic landmarks and destinations. Sunday's with Tucke, (Jim Tucke, the musical genius and Beatles historian) begin in December and her performs every Sunday through March. Hours for the live music is 2 pm - 5 pm. The event is FREE. Leoma's private studio and guest cottage is adjacet to the gallery so chances are you see Leoma busy painting a canvas or planting a flower or beating on her drum on the garden stage.

If you love bright colors and funky art, Leoma Lovegroves is a MUST on your bucket list. There is a wonderful colorful garden in back of the Art Store. Take the kids to paint a coconut or sign up for art classes. This is one of my favorite places to go in SW Florida in the small Fishing Art Town of Matlacha

Visited for the first time. Very warmly greeted. Access is free, but donation gladly given. A surprisingly large amount on exhibit, starting with the Revolutionary War. By far, largest exhibit is on World War 2. Many interesting things. There are guides throughout to answer questions. Very enjoyable time. Will return soon. Thank you.

This is a pretty bare bones retail operation for fresh seafood. They have their own boats! Which unload in the back. You can walk around to watch. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh! Selection varies according to what is available. Pink Gulf Shrimp in several sizes up to colossal likewise the stone crab claws when in season. Fresh wild caught fish- we’ve had snapper, Ahi tuna, triple tail. They pack your selection in ice for the car ride home. Prices are market. I wouldn’t buy fish anywhere else.

I go occasionally ! It has some great fresh veggies , dog friendly I go early because it's very , very crowded during season
Actually it a nightmare.
Only complaint is parking and people who think their dog should make friends with all dogs ! Mine dosen't like dogs on leash es but even after warning people just don't get it ???
Other than that go early , get what you want ! Go home

Cape Coral

Have lived here for over 20 years. In the midst of moving. The city itself is great but the internal workings and infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. This is a preplatted community with every lot 85 feet by 125 feet. To assemble a large tract of land you need to negotiate with each lot owner. There are no businesses so taxes are very high. We also don't have highway access, no airport, convention center or river access. We do have good restaurants but very little if any cultural activities. The City manager and elected council can't get things together. We are not a destination. With some work the Cape could be a great vacation area.

We had a great day with Captain Bruce. We left from Pine Island around 8:30 am and spent the day touring the Gulf with a stop on Cayo Costa, a State Park island in the Gulf only available by boat. The beach was pristine and my wife enjoyed shelling to whire sandy beach. It was like our own private island, our nearest other visiting group was hundreds of yards away. We enjoyed a picnic style lunch (we brought out own, along with drinks) on the beach and watched the tide come in, with out feet in the sand, on a perfect 87 degree day.

I highly recommend Captain Bruce, he was personable and amiable and you can tell he enjoys his job.

Rotary Park Environmental Center

Reviewed By Pascalle965 - Maastricht, The Netherlands

Although probably lots of volunteers work here, the park seems not maintained. The Observation tower is ``out of order``, the bat-house is broken, the nature trail not well marked... I could be a very nice place to spot wildlife. The boardwalk and Observation tower at the Glover Bight were well maintained, this was a nice trail through the mangroves. But thumbs up for all the volunteers!
