This gift shop is absolutely gorgeous. So many nice items from all price ranges. The people who work there are so friendly. I had to go back a second time on vacation because I loved it so much. The quality of their items from furniture, art work, table settings, wine and all kinds of gifts is a real treat.

Take a horseback ride on the beach and along moss covered tree lanes in the low-country of SC. We have something for all ages. Lessons, boarding, training, pony rides, guest house, camping areas, and a brand new gift shop. Enjoy the day discovering SC by horseback!

I finally got to ride a horse on the beach, which I have always wanted to do and it was wonderful! A two hour ride at a slow pace on a great horse with a wonderful personality was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! My horse’s name was Wizard and he took his time taking a snack along the way which I loved! He loved moss which I found out is a member of the pineapple family! If you get a chance please go and take a ride, you won’t regret it! My boyfriend’s horse’s name was Diesel!

Chapel of Ease

Very cool ruins, we all enjoyed taking a walk back in time. It was a quick stop, probably 20 minutes altogether but interesting. Definitely echo those who recommended bug spray - even with the Deep Woods Off the gnats were everywhere. Worth a stop.

Penn Center

Tucked in the heart of the South Carolina Sea Islands surrounded by glimmering marshes and nestled beneath the silvery moss-draped limbs of massive live oaks, is Penn Center. It is the site of the former Penn School, one of the country's first schools for formerly enslaved individuals. Penn Center is one of the most significant African American historical and cultural institutions in existence today. We are located on St. Helena Island, one of the most beautiful and historically distinct of the South Carolina Sea Islands, and at the heart of Gullah culture

This place seems to add more and more each time I go. Fascinating local history of the first school for freed enslaved persons by 2 Quaker women. The history continues with civil rights meetings and a cottage where MLK came for rest and reflection and began drafting the "I have a dream" speech. Well worth planning 90 minutes or so. Bring the kids, they'll enjoy it too.
