Eglise Saint Gilles

Reviewed By Neil K - Liverpool, United Kingdom

Eglise Saint Gilles is a beautiful church located in a vibrant square in the St Gilles district of Brussels.
A church built in the 19th century in the very evocative Baroque style of architecture, the interior is free to look around in and although not as opulent as some of the more famous churches to be found in Brussels it's still a really nice church.
When you view this church of a night when it's illuminated the church has a splendid medieval look to it.
Eglise Saint Gilles is easy to locate on Parvis Saint Gilles in an area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a great part of Brussels to visit.
Well worth checking out.

This smal beer shop offers a range of beers from small Breweries (Belgian & abroad). I would recommend this shop when you're already built an intrest for beer and tried some range of commercial Belgian beers like Chimay, westmalle,...
The guy can provide you with all info of (micro) beer brewers in Brussels.

It´s a very nice place! Good music, free Concerts ( you just have to buy a drink) and the choice of drinks is great ( prices are very reasonable for this area). Owner is friendly and there is a terrasse for the sunny days and a big and cosy place for smokers.

This is one of Saint-Gilles little hidden gem. This art gallery is situated behind a beautiful Art Nouveau building in an Art deco white cube and has a great selection of art work with a new exhibition every month and a half or so. They are presenting all sorts of different art works from painting to sculpture and installation. I love this place and definitely recommend a visit to all the art lovers out there.

Brasserie l'egalite

Reviewed By Neil K - Liverpool, United Kingdom

We were bimbling around the wonderful St Gilles district pub and bar hopping when we decided to drop into here for a couple of beers and what a great find.
Walking in and you notice that this predominantly a beer bar, decor and furnishings are sparse but cool and there's plenty of Seating options spread throughout this bar, there's 4 draught beer taps and 100's of bottled beers on offer,it's a cool bar and one I am so glad we found.
We were here on a Thursday night and the bar was busy, after a quick study of the beers on offer I opted to have a Duvel beer ,this is my favourite beer and it's a beer I love to savour but weighing in at 8.5% why would you want to rush such a quality beer.
These are the type of bars that bring me back to Brussels year after year and this bar is special.
My Duvel beer was outstandingly good and while supping it I had a study of the big bottled range and spotted a beer from Brewdog Brewery and went for their 5am saint and again this was just one fantastic beer,we have a Brewdog bar in my home town of Liverpool and I have really developed a taste for their beers and the beer served here was fantastic.
My twin brother Stephen also tried 2 beers,he had a light beer and a beer from Le Chouffe and he really enjoyed them.
We really enjoyed our beers in here, between us we sampled 4 beers served in great condition before we moved on and for a first time visit we were very impressed with the great bar.
Brasserie L'Egalite is really easy to locate, trams 3 4.51 to stop Parvis St Gilles drops you off practically by this bar and in an exciting area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,9am till 5am.
A great beer bar and well worth checking out.
